Laser Lens??_!!

My slim ps2 is no longer reading games after I nudged the console while playing a game. It made a weird sound like something scratching and now it won't read any games or dvds. I am guessing that there is something wrong with the laser lens. I have a friend with a broken ceramic white slim ps2 from Japan which has a working laser. If I replace my current laser lens (US/c) with a japanese ps2 laser lens, would everything work ok?

It should work, regional restrictions are embedded into the PS2 bios not the hardware.

Too funny, I see Sony is still pushing trash.

Random is right, hardware doesn't matter short of the CPU.
Lik-Sang has many PS2 parts for sale.

Why not swap cases while you're at it.
Stick your PS2 internals into the ceramic case.
That would look much better.

hey similar problem its because sony used to use ++++ ass lasres that were crap and break really easily and cant read half of the dvds u put in and screw up when playing games all u need to do is go to a shop like a mod shop or something and buy one of the new sony lasers they cost au$50

Ya sonys revision game is messed up....I built a PS2 version 9 it ran DVD RW smoothy...soemthing broke on it and I had to revert to a V7....even with a new lens it cant read DVD RW ;-;
