Long read, if you take the time to do it I will love you!

My computer was fine one day, the next day I get home from classes and the computer isn't turning on. I wasn't getting the "beep" from the computer that I always expect, so I opened up the case and did my usual "fixing".

Unplugged the hard drives, replugged them, replugged the IDE cables, etc, still no beeping sound. I tried everything I could possibly think of, and finally I saw that my primary hard drive's IDE prongs were damaged and that some of the little things had snapped off. I tried using my slave drive as the primary, still didn't work.

So I went out and bought a new hard drive to test out, plugged it in, etc and still nothing from the PC.

Everything gets power, all the fans run, hard drives are on, lights on everywhere but no response from the motherboard or anything. No beeping, nothing on the screen...

Any help guys? Thanks a lot.

could it possibly be the hard drive is now blank and there is no operating software installed?

It is a brand new power supply, but either way I will try to run just the motherboard.

Any other possible solutions if this does not work?

Update: The beeping sound comes on CONTINUOUSLY if I run the PC without a hard drive attached, but when I attach the hard drive, nothing.

Any ideas?

How do I enter bios if I'm getting no beep with the hard drive connected?
