If you are using XP, try restoring to an earlier date, using System Restore.

Could be a hardware problem or an overheat. What temps are you running at?

Common problem these days. 1. You are either having your computer overheat to the point where it restarts automatically. Or, 2. Your Power Supply (PSU) is inadequate. Try turning off the automatic restart if your computer overheats, I think it is under Power Savings/Power Supply Settings. Check in control panel. Hope this helps. :D

LOL... do you think the "automatic restart if it overheats" isn't there for a good reason?
You can turn off the "automatic restart" if a bluescreen appears, thats propably you was talking about :/
Try: [Windows-Button] + [Pause] -> "Advanced" -> 'Start and Recover' -> "Settings" -> under 'System Error' uncheck -> 'restart automatically'

I received the same problem, but after changing resolutions in Prince of Persia: Two Thrones. Has anybody else experienced this? System restore has done nothing and like the original poster windows seems to load and then some message flashes quickly and the sytem reboots. Please Help!

Yes, nothing seems to work in getting it past the XP loading screen. I've tried copying new registry files from the XP Home install cd, overwriting the kernal32.dll, and everything else I can think of. Unfortunately I also had Norton GoBack installed so MaxBlaster4 won't let me change any partitions, which means all the microsoft tutorials telling me to install a new copy of windows to troubleshoot the existing one won't work without a complete reformat.
Can anyone think of something I might be missing or what could be causing the endless restarts of death???
ps - The system is only a few months old and with 5 fans + controller overheating definitely isn't the problem...

Maybe, if you use 2 RAM's you could try to use only on.
Did you already reinstall? (without format)

Randomly restarts can also be due to a faulty mobo.
A mate had this and the cause was the mobo.
