I recently got NFS Mostwanted installed and couldn't get it running. The installation was fine, but when I tried to run the game, it showed a splash screen of need for speed most wanted and then goes to full screen mode with black screen and then crashes back to the desktop.

I have the following system Specs.:
---> AMD AthlonXP 64 3200+
---> ASUS A8N SLI-Premium
---> 1 x XFX-Geforce-6600-GT
---> 1GB ( 2 x 512MB ) DDR400 RAM
---> 2 x Maxtor 80GB SATA ( RAID 0 )
---> 1 x Samsung 80 GB
---> Windows XP SP2
---> DirectX 9.0c (latest one)
---> nVidia Driver 81.95

I have got the latest driver for the graphics card as well as the motherboard. I also have the latest DirectX 9.0c. I even reinstalled my entire Windows, still it gives the same problem CTD every time I run NFS-MostWanted. I couldn't get the game started at all.

I installed the game on my friends machine with a lower pc configuration and it worked just fine. He don't even have the latest driver too.

I don't have any problem with any other game like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and LockOn. All other games runs preety well.

Can anybody help me out and get the game running.

Regards,
Sapam

There is a 1.3 Patch out for Most Wanted, maybe this will work now...

total gues here, dont have nor own the gme but...

do you have a virtual drive mounted?

if the game is starforce protected it wont let any virtual drives/cd emulators running (like daemon tools or alcohol virtual drives), its to prevent warez versions running from them therefore the original CD is needed though there are a few workarounds...

The game simply CTD with no warning or error. All I can see in the game is the initial splash screen and a blank fullscreen for a moment and it simply CTD. I have done all the dance option. Changed drivers, reinstall Window. Am now tried of getting it worked. It worked on my friends machine ( old machine ) but not on my. And interestingly a friend of mine had a AMD rig. and it have the same problem too. Can canyone figure out the problem.

Thanks

you got a 64meg gfx card, my guess is this game needs a 128 to run smooth, slow hard drive speed aslo, 20gb is kinda small also, amy be full of old temp files and so you should delete them.
