New Games wont work on my brand new computer!!!

Hi,

New games like Battlefield 2, NFSMW and so on wont work on my new computer. When i start the game the screen turns black and then jump back to the desktop. I have tried to install older games like Warcraft 3 and they work. These are things i have done to make it work.

Reinstalling Windows XP with SP2 several times.
Installing the latest videocard driver and older once.
Installing motherboard drivers.
Installing audio drivers.
Installing the newest patches on all games.
Installing the latest monitor driver
Changed the resolution on the screen.

My new computer:
Geforce 7800GT, AMD Athlon X2 3800+, 2*512 Corsair XMS PRO Series, Asus A8N SLI Motherboard nForce4, Windows XP SP2.

PLEASE help me!!! Does somebody have any idea??

All other posts deleted, it could have been due to a Server slowdown.

If older games work fine, then it could be you have an older version of DirectX. Try installing the latest (9c).

I have downloaded the latest direct X 9.0c several times. sorry for spamming the board but server was slow, didnt think anything was happening

Hey DeeDeeDanne, the server was painfully slow yesterday today as well. Something I have had to learn with computers and especially the internet is that one needs infinite patience. It could be a software conflict; uninstall all your software (specfically any codecs if you have it installed) exept what you need to play, if that works then reinstal all yr other software one at a time each time checking to see the game works untill you find what software is causing the problem. Also go to Microsoft update and download and install everthing to do with Dotnet.fix or framework; when I updated my graphics drivers the read me told me to do this as well (not sure what it actually does) I hope this helps

Thanks for the tip but my new games wont work on a reinstalled windows xp with no software except drivers and directX, today i found out that it seams like there is a problem with directX input. When i run the directX test it goes fine except when it comes to inputs where the test crashes. Does anybody recognise this problem??Is this the problem why new games wont start?

My old computer :
Amd Athlon xp 2000+, geforce 5900, Asus A7V 666. But i have no problem with that computer, only with the new.

Hi guys
Just to let you all know that my new computer is now working perfectly!:D:D...the problem was a remote control connected by usb. So if somebody else has got the same problem and tried to get their computer working for 2 weeks, throw out the remote throw the window, thats what im going to do.
