It may be obvious, but i can't seem to do anything about it -

My CD_ROM is gone!

I opened Sd4hide from a CD, and can;t restore it since there is no backup file!

I can only see the Daemon virtual ROM with no loaded image cause i can't path it to the CD where the image was, cause the cd_rom is gone!

hahaha :O

Seems to me that this Sd4hide, runs in a similar way to Starforce Nightmare, if thats the case, the only way to restore your CD-ROM drive is to format and reinstall Windows.

Give "Starforce Nightmare" a try, after start click on "Enable CD" then restart Windows

nothing happened, thanks for help anyway...

Try and do a dump of the registry key:
HKLM\Hardware\Devicemap\Scsi

Do it by writing this on the commandline:
REG EXPORT HKLM\Hardware\Devicemap\Scsi scsi.reg

Post the content of the new scsi.reg file here in the thread.

I'm not sure I can help, because I don't really think sd4hide did anything to make your drive disappear, but it is worth a try.

Is your drive visible from the Device Manager? Is it activated? Could you possibly try and reinstall it?

when i enter that command line
"REG EXPORT HKLM\Hardware\Devicemap\Scsi scsi.reg"

and press enter, a dos window just flashes and I can't read anything.

In my Device Manager I can only see:

Generic DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device

...that's Virtual CD from Daemon i suppose.

How to re-install CD-ROM?

Open a "DOS" window (type cmd<enter> in "Run") and enter what I said. The file scsi.reg will be saved in the directory you are.

You could try "Add new hardware" from the Control Panel.

I recommend that you disable the virtual drive from Daemon Tools, and close Daemon Tools. Then check the registry again to see how the "Scsi Port 2\Scsi Bus 0" looks like. If it has the Target Id 0 key, then delete it.

Try this in the commandline ("DOS Window"):
net start dmadmin
net start dmserver

Then check if your CD-Rom drive is back.

Alright, just forget about it and thanks, it was probably the Starforce Nightmare that helped.

This is rediciolous!

I forgot that some dud was tryin to connect his HDD thru mine CD_ROM wires, and he did not push the cable enough to reconnect it again.
It's alright now.

sorry everyone...

I'm gonna kill the bastard! !!!

If you don't mind me asking, why?

:grayyes:
In the Setup-procedure of WinXP, you'll be asked if you wanna delete your Win-Folder in order to install it in the same folder.

If i've had some issues with trojans and viruses before reinstall of Windows, they will not even run anymore after the new installation (because of missing registry entrys and more).

If you are a programer or have other urgent stuff to backup (like FTP-Accounts), there no need to format your Hard-Drive (300GB-Drive takes hours to format, do better a quick-format)

Just reintall Windows and immediately install a anti-virus program like AntiVir (its free and very good).

Have a nice day :D
