Quake 4 Failed to Load DLL:cdkey

When i first type in my cd key and hit next i get a pop up error saying :

UNHANDLED EXCEPTION
Error Number: 0x80040702
Description: Failed to load DLL: cdkey
Setup will now terminate
OK

I dont why this happens. I was reading posts and someone had this problem with another game and a reply was to delete a specific folder in:
C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information . Any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.

I do own the game. It doesnt seem to be a key problem, b/c i can enter any key (ive tried others, other than mine) and it brings the same error. I dont even have to enter a key for that error to pop up. Its weird. It has to be something else. Any other ideas.

is this a first time install of the game?
and are u using a backup or and original copy to install the game?

This is the first install, and im using my Original Copy. Would it make a difference if i used my copy? Anyways lets stick to the topic...what the hell is going on with the installation? Should i delete any folders out of the C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information folder? Or will that screw things up.

I do thinks so, but you could do a backup first and yep, and it does make a difference if you use a copy or your orginal.

-Maybe, turning off your Internet-Connection (before starting the game) will help :rolleyes:
-Or reinstalling

I dont even get to the actual installation of the game so i cannot uninstall and reinstall. I also dont even get to the point where you would connect to the internet. This is right when you type the cd key after the iD logo. How would you go about deleting the specific folder to get the game to run? How would you know which one to delete and how would you make a backup incase you delete the wrong folder. Thanks

The Files in there are Setup-Files, you can start these setup.exe's and look which is the one for q4 or something, but i doubt it has anything to do with your prob.

I also doubt you have a legal copy :O, because nearly all post about your prob. has to do with downloaded image (google)

Ok, well what do you suggest to do for someone that might have a image of the game (for backup purposes), as it may help me with my problem as i have a real copy.

Well, then return the copy of "your" game, coz the setup is corrupt :/

For All of you that need help for quake 4 here is the cdkey:EDITED when you put the cdkey and install it disable you internet then go in to the game and if it show that Problem i dont know what to tell you e-mail back if it works

some mod should and will edit that

free willingly or not you are NOT to give out serial or CD keys, it just supports those who want to use warez versions of the game and whats best is somebody will use your cd key and go online then you wont be able to get online as if its like most games only 1 CD key will be on at any time.
