Stronhold 2 1.3.1 No-CD Crack

Yes, There has been a thread about this with no replies for about 6 days. So I thought I would start a new one.

I am a big fan of the Stronghold Series. Most of you know that Stronghold 2 was pre-released and was one of the most buggy games ever.

Now for those of you who do NOT know, They have released the long-awaited patch 1.3.1 which fixes most, if not all, Game problems. This includes Crime, Better AI, and New maps and castles. Which makes the game almost new.

*The problem... There is no exsisting Stronghold 2 1.3.1 No-Cd Patch out there, and all the images were release Pre-1.3.1. I'm finding it very hard to start the game without my CD, Which prevents me and some buddies from Lanning it up.

If you or someone knows of a working way, or a floating patch I have not found, Please could you throw it on the boards?

From what I understand the new patch has SecuROMs protection.

This is what someone else has done, try it and tell me if it works!!!


Just try this, once you created an .mdf and .mds, or any other iso, go to A-Ray scanner (get here http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Tools/CD-DVD-Rip-Other-Tools/ARay-Scanner.shtml) and go to Options and click TwinCreator and Select the image (mdf) and the Media-Description (mds). Once you do that click start and it will create a patched image. Once that is done open Alcohol and select burn image then look for the patched image you created using TwinCreator then burn or use Alcohol to Emulate the cd.

Again not sure if it works, don't have the game to try it!!!

No, the problem is not the image, but the new CD Protection called SecuROM 7.00.00.0103. It detects emulators, programs to hidefrom protection (Like Anti-Blaxx). The only way is to really crack the game, but because of something which NO ONE knows, it is not released yet!

I'm not sure how your logic points out I dont have it, I own the copy I stated that me and some friends would like to play the game. These are the people who will not buy a game unless it is fun, Since there is no exsisting Demo, They installed the game from my CD, Now we need a crack for all the systems.

Been looking for this NOCD patch for v1.3, but its still not out. Hoodlum did the previous versions, but it doesnt look like theyre doing 1.3.

Ahh well, have to stick to 1.2 on the LAN. They didnt add the ability to have AI players on multiplayer anyway, so apart from a few bug fixes its no great loss.

hey guys, i finally was successful in making a backup copy of stronghold 2 that runs on patch 1.3.1. the technique is to make a 1:1 exact copy of the original and it will work. i used blindwrite.

also, play the game using read only cd or dvd drive. cd/dvd writers cannot play the game.

you only need to backup disc 2 and filename for the image should be SH2_DISC2. if you have difficulty creating the image, i once saw an image floating around the net. of course, download it only if you have the original!

They have a 1.2 No-cd on Gamecopyworld.com, But it isn't worth it. Way too buggy. I've been enjoying the 1.3 version, Yet a CD-Crack does not exsist so Multiplayer for me is limited to people I don't know. If there is one thing I don't like doing is playing multiplayer with people I do not know they always find some gay way of making the game stupid.

i used Virtual-cd-hide to hide the fact that deamon tools (4.0) is a virtual drive and than use starforce nightmare to disable the ide drive(s).
the play this proces has worked on The Matrix:Path of neo which has the latest securom protection (version 7.blablabla)

No, It doesnt work. The only real way around this is to crack the executable. Or get a working image.

It works for me. Are you sure that you disabled CD/DVD drivers? Drivers should not be seen from windows. I disabled first time IDE Secondary (or primary) Master and Slave under Standard CMOS Features and it didn't work. Then I disabled On-Chip Secondary (or primary) PCI IDE under Integrated Peripherals and the game works now without any problems. An I think I have CloneCD Hoodlum version.

Ok this is how I got it to work;

Follow the instructions on burning the cd from gamecopyworld.com;

Easy enough; then mount the cd image of disk 2 with daemon tools,

start the game with Securom 7 Burner Loader; testing now to see if it works with cd/writers also.....

I tried to run Stronghold 2 in this mode:
- I burn the image of disk 2 (http://m1010.gamecopyworld.com/games...nghold_2.shtml) into a cd-rw with Alcohol 120% ;
- I mount the image with D-Tools 4.03HE and the emulation was all activated ;
- I tried to use in sequence Securom 7 Burner Loader,Virtual Cd Hide and SD4HIDE but .... the game doesn't work!!

i actuially got it to work. i just went into hardware manager and disabled my cd drive, a simple restart later and it works great! im not even running any emulation i just mounted the image into daemon tools and proceeded to waste an entire night playing...now i have to back up all of my games so i dont have to keep restarting just to use/not use my cd drive

Trust me try this, It works. Just burn the image from game copy world using Alcohol 120. Uninstall alcohol because the game does not allow the emulator. The run daemon tools. I might not know a lot, but i know it works that way =)

But for one reason or another i can't make this work on my laptop. I do exactly the same. I have a DVD-writer in my laptop while i have a CD-writer in my desktop. Has anyone made the game run on a laptop?

Try enable RPMS Emulation in alcohol 120%.

I had trouble with it myself, but just found a way that definatelly works!!

- Burn the 'NEEDS EMULATION.mdf' image as 'Normal CD' with Alcohol 120% on CD. The image can be found here:

- Uninstall Alcohol 120% (otherwise the game locates Alcohol's virtual drive)
- Restart your PC
- Run Daemon Tools, mount the image, and set the emulation to RMPS

- Play the game

After 2 full days and more long nights trying to get this to work, I finally found a dumbfoundingly-simple way:

- Burn the "NEEDS_EMULATION" mdf to a cd. I used Alcohol 120%, on "normalCD" mode.
- Put the newly-burnt "NEEDS_EMULATION" CD into your CDROM drive.
- Run the game.

Note the abscence of any emulation. I have no emulated drives running, and there is NOT a copy either of the original Stronghold 2 CDs, or any emulated versions, in any of my drives. I am not running SD4H or SR7.stop. Just insert the "NEEDS_EMULATION" CD and go like mad.

Please let me know if this works/doesn't for ya'lls.

Edit: Please note that it only seems to work if launched from the Autoplay screen. The autoplay screen can be accessed by autoplaying (double-clicking) the needs_emulation CD.

Make sure you have RMPS emulation enabled. If you don't you'll see in My Computer that the CD label (the one made from the MDF) is "NEEDS EMULATION". (i.e. needs RMPS emulation) Once you have RMPS emulation enabled, it spoofs the original CD, and appears labeled as "SD2_CD2". You can enable RMPS by running Daemon tools in the background with RMPS enabled.

I found a way to play the game last night though, All I did was mount "NEEDS EMULATION" on daemon and activate RMPS , also I had to either physically disable my CD-Drive or use SFNightmare to disable it.

Has anyone had any luck with getting this to run without uninstalling Alcohol? I use it far too often to get rid of, and of course, the minute I uninstalled it SH2 ran perfectly.

I've tried the better part of the virtual drive hiders, and even disabling the virtual drive in alcohol with no luck at all.

Any ideas?

After trying 1000's of solutions, I finally found a way...

1. Burned the image found at gamecopyworld to a CD.
2. Uninstalled ALL virtual drives (Daemon+Alcohol)
3. Right-Clicked the Stronghold2 shortcut on my desktop
4. Selected the "compatibility" tab
5. Checked the option for "Run this program in compatibility mode for"
6. Selected "Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5)"

Inserted the burned CD and started the game, it actually works for me...Hopefully it will help you too!:artysmil

Well... since you own the game, here's your answer. After you pass the loading splash screen and get into the menus, you no longer need the CD for the game to run. I run LAN games all the time, but I only have 1 CD. Just start each computer loading the game after each passes to the menus. Problem solved. Glad you spent the money to buy the game. A lot of people worked hard to make that game as good as it is... enjoy!

Alright all this is a simple, step by step guide how to do this.

1.Download the new emulation image files here or at game copyworld.
2.Download Daemon tools.
3.Install Daemon tools.
4.Extract the image files to a safe location.
5.Mount the .mds file to daemon tools.
6.Turn "All Emulation On"

(Make sure that it says SH2_DISC2 when the image is loaded on your cd drive.

-Now dont be lazy!

7.Right click "My Computer" and a shortcut menu pops up.
8.Click "Manage."
9.A new window pops up which is titled "Computer Management."
10.On the left pane click "Device Manager."
11.Now information will show up about your computers info/hardware in the middle.
12.Now click the addition box where it says, DVD/CD-ROM Drives.
13.A couple things will most likely show up under the selected harware, maybe only one depends on your computer, "SIMPLY right click on your cd drive or dvd drive, even both if need, or if you have a combo drive, and click "DISABLE."

Well... since you own the game, here's your answer. After you pass the loading splash screen and get into the menus, you no longer need the CD for the game to run. I run LAN games all the time, but I only have 1 CD. Just start each computer loading the game after each passes to the menus. Problem solved. Glad you spent the money to buy the game. A lot of people worked hard to make that game as good as it is... enjoy!

It is only legal for him to play the game. Making a LAN game with a bunch of your friends is only legal if each of you has their own copy of the game.

Unfortunately, worldwide copyright legislation isn't aligned to US legislation. In some countries that is legal. The copyright laws are different from country to country, and it will be some time until we'll see a unified legislation.

Hey guys.. I've found out how to make this game work.. (Windows XP Prof)

1. Download the fixed CD Image at Gamecopyworld.
2. Install Daemon 4.03HE.
3. Install the game.
4. After installation, go to Device Manager and disable your CD/DVD drive. (Right click on My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager. Click on the CD/DVD category, right click on you PHYSICAL drive, then click DISABLE.)
5. Mount the fixed CD image using Daemon.
6. Run the game.

This works 100%. Not kidding. AND I'm using a laptop (P4 2.4Ghz, ATI Mobility Radeon,.)

Turn on ALL OPTIONS ON in Daemon's Emulation options.

Can anyone guide me?As soon as i update the Stronghold 2 from version 1.0 to version 1.3.1.The game doesnot start even though i insert the cd as well?
Any workaround for that?

Did you have a fixed .exe installed on the v1.0?

All you have to do is:

*download and install DAEMON TOOLS
* download Pr0t.St0p
* run Pr0t.St0p
* Hide your virtuals drivers
* run the game
* restore your drivers (don't forget that, or your game may not run well)
* Play!
