This tutorial will teach you how to make a basic .wad pack file containing textures to

place on your map in Hammer.

First of all, grab your copy of Wally Wad from

http://www.telefragged.com/wally/downloads.shtml

Open Wally Wad and select "File/New".

For this tutorial I will be selecting "Half life Package". (There is really no difference

in choice of Q1,2,3 etc.)

A window should appear with a box on the left and a tan section on the right.

Make sure your texture is divisble by 16 (64,128,512 etc.) and HAS BEEN INDEXED (NOT RGB).

Copy your image (ctrl+c) and paste it in the window wally has provided (Crtl+V) then give

the texture a name.

Add as many textures as you like to the pack.

When your finished, go "File/Save As" and save it under any name you like.

Import your .wad file into Hammer by clicking (in hammer) "Tools/Options" and under the

texture tab.

There you have it, your very own .wad file to play around with.

Remember you can use any image you like as long as you shrink or expand it to a number

divisible by 16 and the layers have been indexed.

If you are still having trouble, email me at garthwalquist@gmail.com and ill reply asap.

Enjoy.
