just an idea, but i know you may have server restrictions or probs but might be an idea to try implement a sale on larger mailboxes - say for example if a member uses alot of pmm then apply in a forum or something for a purchase... for example - 1000 points for a limit increase of 10private messages - or something alike

as i said just an idea, but may be good to add in a similar way to the MGF store :)

I thought about something similar to this, but unfortunately it is not possible to limit the number of PM's via each user.

Once a limit is set for PM's, it applies to EVERY usergroup, except admins, so regular members, mods, and supermods all have the limit.

There is no way around this (maybe via hacking?) but this will change in vB 3 :)

Hmm the vBB 3.0 does sound good ... look forward to seeing it in action ;) ... but regular emptying of the PM box is still good housekeeping practice :)

There is not a set release date yet. The best we've had is Quarter 1 2003, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was pushed back. I wouldn't mind waiting though, the devs at Jelsoft are doing a damn good job.

well m8s, from what I hear, its suposed to be like vb2 but it is supposed to be much more "tech" if you know what I mean.. better styles, much more animated and 3d smilies, better management in general, better and much more graphical interface... etc...

Everything you said, except for the vB 2 part:)
vB 3 will be far beyond vB 2.x, it won't be anything like it. The interface may be similar, but the overall architecture is much different. The template system is differnet, and will use conditionals. List goes on and on...The GUI is not as important, the big deal is the management system, since it will be much more customizable.
