Hi mate..Did you find out how to burn ya dvd...In my opinion (counts for nowt ) your best off getting a dvd-r x2...

Did not notice where you were from but i get mine off (plug plug)

www.bigpockets.co.uk

try a look see..

Burning dvd is quite easy realy. If its a short film, under 2 1/2 hour there is no need to encode it..Get hold off DVD Maestro

Let me see, this is off top off mi head ( i have a more detailed guide, with very nice helpfull pics)...run the VOB files through DVD2AVI.You will then get 2 new files a "ac3" audio fle and a "d2v" file..You can now put thes files through TMPGEnc,use the wizard to make your new dvd mpg2 file.Run this file through you authoring prog to make ya "AUDIO_TS" amd "VIDEO_TS" files,Burn with nero..

Easy ehhh...

If the vobs are under 4.37.gb then you dont need to re-encode them with tmpgenc.

Just needs authering and burning.

This option will cause the main movie to once you put your DVDr into the player. Ie you have to lose the menu/extras, but it will allow your movie to fit on your 4.3GB DVD-R with identical quality to the original. It also keeps your 5.1 Sound, and some selected subtitle streams of your choice. You need at least 9-15 Gig of space on your hard drive.

Software required: DVD Decryptor (from www.doom9.net)
SubRip 1.033 or higher (from www.doom9.net)
DVDMaestro (Spruce Technologies – Gone)
Nero 5.5.9.0 or higher (Working Demos available)

a) Load DVD Decryptor, it will select your main movie automatically in IFO mode. Click on the "Stream Processing" tab and then place a tick in the "Enable stream processing" box. This box will then allow you to select from the list of streams above it. Select "DEMUX" and then select at least 3 things from the list...your Video File (at the top)...your AC3 file (preferably the 6ch one to keep surround sound) and your Subtitle stream.
b) Extract to your hard drive. This will create an m2v file for your video, an AC3 file for your audio, and a small .vob ad .ifo file that will have your subtitle stream in it only. This will also create chapter list files for you for Maestro in the same folder.
c) Load Up SubRip, load in your .Vob File and IFO file. Select your Subtitle language you want to add to your dvd and select “Save as BMP”. Subtitles are BMP pic files, save the BMPs to your hard drive and then save the DVD Maestro-specific files to the same place…youll have to select Maestro as the output format. These will tell Maestro where the BMP pics need to play in your movie.
d) Load up DVD Maestro. Import the m2v video file, import the AC3 file (create sync track once imported), import the Chapters file, import the Subtitles list, and Create your VIDEO_TS folder. e) Burn your VIDEO_TS folder with Nero If Nero complains about a non-compliant file, its just an extra project save file that Maestro added to your VIDEO_TS folder, you don’t need this file so just continue.
Done!

you can forget the sub bit if you dont want subs.
Theres also other programs you can use to auther the vobs.Infoedit, spuce up........

heres some other authering guides

http://www.doom9.org/mpg/spruceup.htm
http://www.doom9.org/mpg/maestro.htm

This one give you a list of authering programs and guides for them.

Just remember if the film vobs once ripped are under 4.37gb you dont need to re-encode with tmpgenc

The guides aint for one or the other, they work for both.
Its just a different media type. The lay out of the film will still be the same.

Yes.i found out the hard way about NTFS......Then i found a read up about DVD Maestro and it mentioned the file system. At that time i was on Windows ME..Soon changed to NTFS on XP Pro...Put in DVD Maestro and it works fine.A lot easier than Spruce,it even puts the chapters in automaticlly....
