I woke up one morning to a nice blue screen that read "unmountable boot volume" your computer has been shut off to avoid serious damage blah blah.
So I knew enough to restart my computer and boot up my Windows XP Pro disc, go to the recovery console and do the "chkdsk /p"
So it starts checking the disk, gets up to 75% and says something like "there was a problem fixing your hard drive" so basically that wont work. I also tried chkdsk /r and that didnt work either. I also tried doing "fixboot" and it wouldnt work, and i cant boot up my hard drive, does anyone know what else i can do?? Thanks for any help possible!

This has happened to me before and chkdsk /r usually works, you should try the 'fixboot' command, that might work, it could be that your HD is FUBAR, and it needs replacing, as a last resort, reinstalling Windows would be the only option.
