Sid Meier Pirates [Archive]

I have problem with Sid Meirs Pirates! the game runs but runs slow when I move the mouse and is a annoying. don't make the game unplayable but after some time get more slow and then go more faster, I have a simialr problem with Dungeon Siege 2 when appears several enemies both games are patched to me most recent versions what can I do? the other games works fine

my specs are

Pentium Iv 1.5 Ghx
256 Ram
Nvidia geforce mx 4000 128 mb (78.05 drivers)
40 Gb HD
Onboard Sound Card
Win Xp Sp2
