i HAVE RIPPED MANY SONGS ONTO MY NEW LAPTOP. iNSTEAD OF TYPING ALL THE NAMES ETC CAN I NOT SOMEHOW DOWN LOAD THEM FROM THE NET? IS THERE A PROGRAM THAT CAN IDENTIFY THESE TRACKS AND RENAME THEM. THEY ARE NOT FULL ALBUMS, BUT JUST VARIOUS TRACKS FROM VARIOUS CD COMPELATIONS. THE TASK IS TEDIOUS AND I SIMPLY DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO RENAME THEM. CAN YOU SUGGEST ANYTHING?

THANKS

Doesn't Windows Media Player 10 do that already?

What program did you use to rip the songs onto your laptop? If you used WMP10 the names and titles should have been retreived before you ripped the CDs, if your computer was connected to the internet at the time.

Another way of doing it is to put untitled songs from one album into WMP10, select all the tracks in the 'Now Playing List', right click on the selected tracks and click 'Find Album Info', type in the name of the ripped album, click 'Search', wait untill the results appear and select the correct album. All the tracks should be named propperly.
