post scenario download shutdown

I foolishly downloaded some scenarios for my Empire Eath: The Art of Conquest - and since then the games shuts down right after I open it - (My normal Empire Earth works normally). Tried everything: re-installing, deleting suspicious files, etc - nothing helps. I'm afraid I don't have a virus checker on that computer. CD installs succesfully on other computer.
