Odd Monitor Issue

Ok im in a spot of trouble here....

My monitors have suddenly got green and purpley red dot square things on them. they appear when i drag a folder or close a folder or file etcetera.

I think, for the same reason i cannot open any games (save pinball :) ) getting all sorts of random errors

Its making my screen unreadable - the only reason i put in emergencies is cuz i need it for an essay due in a couple of days and i cant read word.

I have 2 monitors, 15 & 17" lcds, i have gforce 5900. the dots appear on both monitors. Have tried all different resolutions and refresh rates etc

Well I don't think its your monitors, its seems like its your graphics card, try updaing the drivers for it, or try another graphics card. Are the dots in the same places on both monitors? Or are they different? It might be that both your monitors have 'dead' pixels.

Sounds to me that your graphics card is getting stressed.. make sure that the fan on the card is working properly and is not overclocked in any way.. things like that can cause artifacts appear on screen.
