just saw on the news about Leeds winning (cant think of who they beat) but they said it wouldnt have been without the aussie duo Viduka and Harry K.

so what i ask is... how deep is English Footy?
is there a future in actual English originated players?

Money!!!

David Beckham earns £100.000 per week!!

If wages don't get capped, I think we can all say goodbye to football in the next 5 years.

personally i think there are too many foreign players in english football an thats why our national team is suffering though alot of clubs do have youth systems for players coming thru the ranks,e.g man utd, efc.an crewe 2 name a few,but not alot of the youth team players make it.

Yes but it is the quality players that make it, eg the guy from Everton .... Wayne Rooney now he is a quality young player that has come through the ranks along with Paul Robinson over in Leeds.

salary cap will help... but may make the other leagues and cups stronger with the likes of Beckem going where the $$$'s are

I didn't just mean cap wages in English football... I meant world wide... Christian Vieri of Inter Milan is reported to earn £129.000 per week!!!!!!

Oh, and Wayne Rooney is gonna be ruined by the media if they keep on bigging him up. He's scored 2 goals and everyone's talking about him...

i honestly believe that the talent in england is overrated. there might be a those certain players that have that special flair, but most english soccer players experience on and off seasons like paul scholes. i believe it all goes down to stlye of play, you play differently with different players, some teams just dont coupe well together just like liverpool who tied with FC Bascal yesterday. They are overrated, the majority of their goals come from breakaways and longballs. The longball will always handicap english soccer.
