Borrowed Half-Life 2 but...

as the post said i borrowed half-life 2 from a friend but that *bleep* steam just will not quit on the cd-key issue. i mean it's a game i borrowed! of course it's a duplicate key. i've read at least a million posts but i have no idea which one relates to my situation. so is there one crack or whatever that i can get that'll make half-life and counterstrike to work fine (just as if i had an original key).
