Act of War 1.06

I bought this game thinking it would be a fun multiplayer game for the family network, but I have run into a brick wall. One of my sons moved away to college and still wants to join the rest of us online to play. Since Atari has a very rigid system, not allowing older versions of the game (like 1.05 that I can find a crack for), I have to use 1.06 to play online. I own this game, and do not want to pay for another copy since the game is not that great. Can anyone locate the 1.06 crack for me and my family? Thanks. :)

Why don't you use the mini-image file to play?

Mount the image using Alcohol.

i'm checking it now... i mounted the image the german thingy told me to, but i accidentally booted it up with the 1.05 crack on the patched 1.06 as well (because that had been my previous feeble attempt to get it working). As a result my system crashed lol! but now im back up, im gonna freshly patch it to make sure the executable is the proper one, then im gonna try the mini image ;) i'll post my results shortly...

Okay...well i tried it out, and it didn't work. When i mounted the mini image like the german instructions said, it didn't recognise it as an act of war dvd like my real copy does. then when i launched the executable with the mini image mounted... nothing, it simply asked for me to insert the dvd

I think there are problems with mini images for this game because it is a dual layer DVD. Considering it is not a popular game, there is, probably, little chance that a nocd patch will appear.

It might be worth investing in http://www.gamejackal.com/home.asp . It is only $9.95, for a short while.

yeah perhaps buying a second copy wouldn't be a bad idea...i just was hoping to have a crack so that i don't have to constantly rotate cd's and dvd's these days (me = lazy :P )

The Crack 1.05 also works fine for 1.06 :D

thats odd bcos when i try using the 1.05 crack on an updated 1.06 game build it locks up the system :S

hmmm.... i use the crack 1.05 on an updated 1.06 game. It works perfect, also in LAN Mode. So no clue where ur problem is :(.

ah well i don't seem to be playing it much lately anyway, i did find however that on the odd occasion the 1.04 german mini-image seemed to make it unnecessary to use any crack at all... i need to do more testing into the matter though ;)
