Far Cry 1.3

Hello,

I am having problems patching Far Cry to 1.3. I googled for help and ended up with a thread from this forum.

This is the thread i found:

Now, at post #18 there was a fairly detailed guide about how to patch the game. However, at step 3, listed below, I encountered a problem.

3. now open ur windows temp folder (temp=temporary). if u dont know where it is do this:
a. click start->control panel->performance + maintainance ->system
b. click environment variables
c. it will tell u where ur temp folder is (actually u have to look in the tmp folder!)

It tells me where my temp folder should be, but when I try to look for it, it isn't there. I'm using the Swedish verison of Windows XP Professional and I'd be grateful for any help. If there's an easier way, that would be even better. I also read something about an Administrator Switch in that thread and I am curious about what that is.

It's possible that the temporary folder is hidden. Make sure you have the option to view hidden files and folders selected.

You haven't actually said what problem you are running into when trying to patch. Do you get any error messages?

Your temp folder by default should be in this directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\'Your User Name'\Local Settings\Temp

To access the Local Settings folder you need to have hidden files on as eCK0 said.

To do this, you need to:
1. Open My Computer
2. Click on Tools then Folder Options.
3. Click on the view tab.
4. Select 'Show hidden files and folders'.
5. Finally click OK and you should be able to see all hidden files.
