Firstly we would sincerely thank those nice friends on some forums who reviewed our website http://www.sothink.com and pointed out problems in many aspects.

Now we are planning to redesign our website and we are figuring some general outline for that. Please help kindly us with following quesitons, as we want to be professional!

1. What in your view is an ideal homepage for a software company like us?

2. Can you suggest some required function/technology that a website for us should have?

3. We know we should avoid taboos, but for details we know very few.can you give one
or two advice on that?

We believe your suggestion will be great help to us.

Thank you in advance!

Ooo Sothlink.

You have the right idea with the layout of the current website. Though the design isn't right.

Few things:
The "Flash Movie Maker, SWF Decompiler, DHTML Menu, Flash Animation, SWF to FLA, SWF Editor, Free HTML Editor, video to flash" actually makes you get minus points with Google, not help you. That should be defined in a meta tag. If you insist on having it, atleast give it a css rule of:
position: absolute;
left: -5000px;

As said don't like the design, mainly the header and that nasty blue-white gradient. Which is also too big. Don't like the hover's either, you can't read the text over the top of it.

You have navigation items in wrong order... Help should be at the end. Partner program should be second to last if at all on the top nav (maybe the footer).

That flash banner has an annoying text effects and constant movement that takes the focus off your webpage and onto that banner. Theres not enough padding below the e-journal header.
You have both a Contact Us and your email in the footer, declutter it by taking one out.

Thats it for the moment.
