Connecting The PS2 to The PC Using With HD Loader

Can u just connect the ps2 to the pc through a ethernet cable connected into the ethernet cable port in the back of the network adapter into one in my computer and do i need any software drivers etc plz help??

i dunno but i can connect my ps2 to my pc via an AV adapter on my All-In-Wonder 9800 pro GFX card, but i cannot edit or mess anything, only play through what shows on my pc screen, aka ps2 on a pc monitor

I'm not sure about the whole inworkings of the PS2 vs. the XBox. Have you tried a crossover cable or only a regular ethernet cable?

ok, well sometime this weekend i am going to my friends house, i'm gonna take my ps2 and find out how its done so i'll get back to you on this one soon! and about the FTP i found a site www.ps2hd.com they have some networking tools you can download with HD loader but like i said i have no idea about networking, i am gonna get to the bottom of this *--WATCH THIS SPACE--*

To transfer games to your PS2 HDD via ethernet, use HDL_dump (http://slightmiscalculation.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=21). The current version is 0.8.2. There is also FAPlink, but that only works with games less than 2GB. To use HDL_dump, you need to run the server ELF on your PS2 and how you do that is up to you. I run mine from my memory card via KeyLauncher .4

You cannot games transfer via FTP like Xbox, and it certainly isn't as fast. You can use use ExecFTPs to transfer files to/from your memory card and hard drive, but you cannot transfer HDL partitions this way.

ps2 isnt really a system to mod i just play my burnt ps2 games on it.BUT IF U GET AN X-BOX.................GUESS WHAT U CAN EMULATE A PS2 OR PS1 or pretty much any system availible accept for the game cube.


get an xbox u can do a hell of alot more mods THAT ARE ACTUALLY COOL such as using mac osX or windows and othe alternate dash board such as evo x which is my fav it can do any thing IF YOU DECIDE TO GET AN XBOX PM ME I GOT SOME INTERESTIN INFO ON MODS FOR YOU

hd loader is a pretty sweet program since i have it and all but an xbox can do loads more stuff then a ps2. dont get me wrong but i still lik the PS2 but X0Box is better

ok HDL i have no idea how to use or connect, i did get a FAQ about how to do it all and it said i need to physically connect the HDD into my computer But i don't want to do that how can i get the HDL to work, without having to attach my HDD into my computer???

HDLoader is just a CD you can only play off your PS2. It reads, adds, removes games you have stored onto a HDD, nothing more nothing less. You can however add other stuff onto your HDD through various possibilities, like Gehenna said.

First do you have a slimline PS2 or an oldie?
Because the oldies you can put stuff onto a memory card and read/play it; like emulators and other stuff. With the slimline however Sony disabled that option.

Well that's actually the guide i was gonna refer you to but the dude got it from somewhere else without giving real credit to it's creators. Anyway that's a gudie where you don't have to open up your PS2 at all. i've done it like that, but with another program called WinHIIP you need a usb to IDE cable, to use that programme though.

Here are the guides, the unmodded one is a bit unfinnished, you just need to read both guides for the unmodded guide.

If u dont want to open your pc get a hard drive case from radio shack, bestbuy or walmart to make your h drive a usb one. (this is what i did with my xbox) You can then take edit do whatever basiclly the f#$k you want. The case should only run you 40$$ but you can also make one.

3.put a modchip with the evox bios on it or use the slayer evo x installer
4.load games or get some emulators
5.play

you can even use the ps2 driveon the xbox to play the games if you have the right bios files. Go to xbox-scene.com and look at some tips on modding an xbox and getting the right types of bios.

You need a program that will lauch ELFs. I use KeyLauncher .4 (do NOT use .5), many people use LaunchElf.
