Screen Sleeps

hello,

i have just reformatted my computer and was having problems with my sound card, i fixed the problem but since it asked me to restart my computer, when ever i go to switch it on the screen turns to sleep mode.

heres what happens: power on, bios screen comes up, windows logo shows, then the screen switches off but it still loads windows because the sound plays.

what can i do??

Sounds like Windows is in a resolution that your monitor can't handle, here's what to do.


First turn on your computer and keep pressing F8, untill a menu appears.
In this menu select 'Start in safe mode'.
When safe mode has loaded up, right click anywhere on the desktop and select 'properties'.
Select the settings tab and change the resolution to either 1024x768 or 800x600.
Then restart your computer.

Does the problem exists, altough you haven't pluged in the sound-card?

Maybe, start in safe-mode an install newest graphic-card driver ;)

Btw, what kind of graphic-card do you own?
