I originally heard about the Adapter because I was previewing Final Fantasy XI- for which you need the adapter to play online. Not sure when FFXI is due in the states or uk, but it looks great, as always. And yes, it's $40 and then you'll have to pay $10-12 a month to play.(I'm NOT complaining, just explaining) Not sure if you're interested...

I personally wont get ffxi cause I am not really a rpg fan but I have been playing some rpg games to see if there better than I assumed they are. Right now I am playing morrowind (pc). I am not that far but so it seems like a good game. Oh yeah is an armour rating 18 good i am at bolermor or something like that in the begging.

Hope you weren't asking me cause don't own a PC right now and have no idea what you're talking about- SORRY! Supposedly (this is only what I heard at my local EB Gameworld) you won't need a PC at all to play online with the adapter...

you will only have to pay for playing ff11 and you also need the hdd to play that game!! so the hdd haven't been released on the us yet so i think that it will pass a long time to play ff11 since you can only play it online!!! i got the adaptor and i'm playing socom navy seals online and really really cool!! and freeeee! so hurry up and get ur adaptors and lets start playing dudes!!! ohh one more thing when you buy the adaptor it comes with a sartup disc wich includes 2 demos that you can play online (madden nfl 2003 and the other one i don't remember!! it's a music game wich it sucks) and that's right you don't need a pc to play online just an isp!! socom us navy seals only supports broadband, dsl etc.. for other games you can play with 56k! hope this give you all an idea of how it works!! peace out!!

i already tried that with my usb modem and it didn't work so i had to call my isp so that they could give a ethernet modem and i had to buy the network adaptor!! so i don't think it shouldn't work for any of you guys!! go ahead and buy the network adapter!!!:)
ohh you really need a ethernet modem!! if u have a usb modem u wont be able to connect it to the network adaptor!! like i said i had to call my isp so that they could change it!! i u have a usb modem where the f... r u gonna plug it in on the daptor??? if ur thinking of:
connect ur usb modem then conect with a ethernet cable to your nic card and plug it in the adaptor!! maaaan that wont work!! i tried that and it didn't:( well good to all of u guys!!:)

no bro u don't need pay all that if you already have ethernet modem or something like that, i had to pay for a new modem cause i had a usb modem wich it doesn't work! so that's $200 less if u already have one , so you will have pay just for the network adaptor + the game $60= $100!
i really can't belive how your thinking about paying $100. go ahead and buy it, (just imaging that ur paying for 2 games) once u start playing online you will forget about all ur other games!! it's really cool.
i really want to go against all of you guys! :)

Cmon guys lets be honest here.

Nothing is free, period.

Right now various companies provide some gamer access for free to get PS online some market penetration.
Invariably, someone will have to start charging a fee or the server quality will nosedive from lack of maintenance.

If the response to PS online changing(not if only when) over to a pay to play service is anything like Apples switch from iTools to .Mac, SCEA is in for big trouble.

Long run prospects are that XBXLV will stay price stable for quite awhile into the future.

Don't get me wrong, I like my Network Adapter(the Hdd logo mocks me but hey so does scy). But XBXLV is clearly a better package.

MOTO GP is cooler than Madden
Frequency proved that Whacked wasn't a total boner.
The Twisted Metal Black disk was cool, to those of us lucky enough to get our adapters before december 31st.

I got the Everquest Beta disk. I gave it to my ex-guitarist since he's more likely to use it(he's an rpg suckah, and a ps2ber what a mook). It looked good, kinda blocky here and there, no voice support with the beta.
If it's your thing, Everquest looked cool, and Sean gave it a thumbs up.

He has SOCOM online and it seems to be one of the few games he has in steady rotation(his girlfriend says she thinks he's talking to himself <even an argument once because she thought Sean was barking at her lol> until she remembers the PS2 voice link.

Forget the cheapo backdoor hacks. Get a fuggin adapter.

Believe me, with the XBXLV kit outselling the Sony Adapters by a margin of 86%, Sony NEEDS to move adapters ASAP to show their developers that the market is out there and ready to BUY BUY BUY.

Xbx live is better but I am content with what I have and it hasnt gave me anything to complain for yet. As for socom omg that game is awsome no lag what so ever it is my favorite online game I have.

Will they come out with a sakura pink network adapter?

The black would clash quite horribly: a big clunky black box hanging on it's rear; I do hope they at least offer a replacement shell.
