Please note that this tutorial is for the original Half-Life, not Half-Life 2.
I use Paint to make my Spraypaint images, but you can use any graphic editing program.

How to make a Tag in Half-Life:
1. Create a new bitmap image, 64 pixels by 64 pixels, 256 colour.
2. Make the entire picture black.
3. Draw whatever you want to come up as your tag in white.
4. Save the image in the Half-Life "logos" folder (Default is C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\logos).
You have created a new Tag for Half-Life.

How to change your Tag:
1. Run Half-Life.
2. From the main menu, choose "Multiplayer".
3. Next, choose "Customize".
4. Where it says "Spraypaint Image" there will be a picture, a drop down box that says "Color", and two buttons that say "Previous" and "Next".
5. To change your Tag, click next/previous. Your Tag should appear eventually.
6. To change the colour, click on the "Color" drop down box.
