@TheNightCrow

go to the website of the emulator and 99% of the time it will say the minimum system requirements, snes, nes and so on will run on nearly any pc with no prob, ps2 GC and xbox work in progress emulators would take a high-end system. even ps1/n64 run slow on my pc, however i upgraded my Graphics to a 9800 pro from a geforce fx 5200 and that helped a LOT. lol hope thats some help to you

Yeah i have a FX5200 and im playing Goldeneye, its so unstable and you cant run anything else while playing it. This is on the Project64 Emulator.

Getting more RAM helps, i recently purchased a stick of kingston 512 DDR and it helps my emus a lot now. I also think the recent realease of project 64 1.6 emualtor for n64 (out since abouit april lol) is great, nearly every games works on it when u mess around with plugins to get a good set up fo each game. :D
