My son loves Gamecube gaming, but the games are so expensive here in Norway. I have found lots of roms, but it's not the same.
Is it possible to copy Gamecube games from computer to disk? :shedance:

Roms we can't discuss sorry.
I'm not sure if you can copy GC yet, and I'm not sure if you can buy minidvds at all !
Read here http://www.mgforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36780
Might be some way here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/61273 but as you see not an easy thing to do.
Why not buying second hand games ?? :)

You can Emulate GCN Roms from Hard Disk but you need certain tools and A Nintendo Game cube Broadband adaptor to tranfer data between PC and GCN, the broadband adaptor cost around US 32$ to emulate GCN roms you need it. Any way you cannot make a fake or backup copy of GCN roms because in a PC DVD reads from inner ring to outer ring. But, in a GCN it reads from outer ring to inner ring this acts a Protection feature for GCN anyway, I've read that certain CD & DVD Burning utilities are able to make a backup copy of the disk..GCN roms contain unwanted data you need to wipe them using a wiper tool like free viper etc.. when you wipe them the size of the rom will be decreased.Example Mario ROM occupies 1.2 GB on HDD but after wiping it will occupy only 400 MB hence wiping is essential. After wiping you can burn the image to a CD or DVD but you can play only by emulating and not by using it in a GCN. The software will emulate the GCN ROM directly from your CD or DVD in which you've burned the image...
Dolphin 1.02 is a emulator which allows you to play these ISO's in a PC without the need for GCN console but the system requirements are really high so atleast try upgrading your system...
Final notes :
It is illegal to Download GCN disks from internet or make a copy of them or use them... Please support Nintendo...
Here is a list of tools that you may need:
Gamecube ISO Ripping server
Paradox Game cube disc server
Gamecube memory card adaptor
Gamecube file converter
Cobra bios
Star cube
Wiped GCM Fixer
Free viper
Card tool - for Editing saves in the memory card
PSUL
GC-Tool v 1.2
GCN disc browser
GC USB Memory adaptor
GCM Split - to edit GCN images
GCM Utility
GCN Encrypt
GC save file converter - Used to convert save games PAL <=> NTSC <=> JAP <=> PAL
DOL is GCN executable format, just like Exe in windows, hence you may need these tools also:
Dol Tool
Easy Dol maker

It's a lot easier to just go buy a Cube than
going through all this rube goldberg hassles.

miniDVD's have been around for a while, I think the main problem is getting the Gamecube to read the backup discs, but I could be wrong.

The Cube scans the disks opposite what the usual disks are,
hence getting a good burn is a bit tricky.
At least that's how I understand it.

exactly right... until they come out with a burner that works also in reverse i think GC backups will be done via pc and cables

GC images are burned like normal ISO files (might have to change the .gcm extension to .iso first). Then ya just burn it and pop it in the GC, provided you use a miniDVDr and have your GC chipped (Viper, Qoob). Backups need to be made through network still unless you have hacked DVD drive firmware, which supposedly exists but it being withheld.

If you need GCN tools mail me with name of the tool required, carrying the title GCN TOOL REQUEST, this step has been taken since I lost all the links to download sites...
Only for Legal owners of Game Cube... Please donot use the tool in an illegal way... Help nintendo to sell more products... support Nintendo... Praise Nintendo... and enjoy legal nintendo products...our support is essential for Nintendo...
If somebody says that GCN disks are priced high in Norway, then just think about India, here 1US $=> 45 Rs. and average monthly salary of an Indian is only about >10,000 Rs, therefore one GCN disk costs about 900 Rs. that is nearly 9% of the one month's salary for just one GCN disk alone, just think about other expenses throughout the month...
I didn't buy my GCN, it was a gift from my cousin from america... just think about us...
Read this and Mail me:
Remember in mind that GCN disk's cannot be burned to Mini DVD unless someone creates a Drive which reads in reverse mode...,So the only way to break this using the only tool which reads disks in reverse mode, over beloved GCN only... read the GCN disks through GCN and then store it HDD then burn it to DVD-ROM or CD-ROM(if the size of the wiped image is small) and then Cheat the GCN such that we've loaded a real GCN disk into it ! thats the trick behind it... if you still need GCN tools after reading this then mail me... and remember that the tool's maker or I will not be held liable for all your actions and dont mail that the tool s**ks, that's your head-ache to manage with the tool... and if the firmware or anything goes wrong in the GCN, I myself or Nintendo cannot help you... so be carefull in using them... it's just like handling a bomb... use it for construction or for your own destruction...
It's in your hand choose the correct path... wisely...
read many instructions on the internet, if you understand them and still if you need them... then mail me... dont ask me how to use those tools, I really cant help you...
My suggestion:
It's really good to buy a GCN disk than to use these tools because you are supporting nintendo and nintendo will support you for the effort that you have took in purchasing the Nintendo product.

Man that blows!
I had no idea the games were that outrageous in India.
We should form a game aid to send all our unwanted or used
games to appreciative gamers in India.
They are a good ally and civilized people, we should help.
What' s postage like to India?

Atleast I'm in a Metro city like chennai, think about people in villages, they've not even seen or touched a computer...and many people or students studying in school waste a lot of time in playing Play station games in shops, and game centres, they used to speak lies, steal money from their parents just to play a game of an hour or two... I've seen many like this and this is the current situtation in our country...people are going crazy behind these internet cafes and hubs and also Game centres that contain PS 2 or Xbox...
Nobody seems to know about gamecube in our country...
It's now the first time Game cube is coming for sale in our country...
and it is priced 13,500 Rs(approx 300 US $).This high price is due to duties on import and other transport charges too... Because all the consoles are highly priced in our country, owning a console in a house seems to be a dream...
That's the reason why people do some crazy things to play a game in PS2 or XBOX at game centers...
All these are located close to Schools and students cut their valuable classes to just play the game... and to hide these from their parents they just speak lies and to play games they steal money from their father's pocket or their mother's hand bag...
This is the reason why GCN is not popular in India...But, PS2 is definitely the HOT console out here... If nintendo supports legal gamers by reducting the prices on these consoles and Discs then nintendo will definetly have a strong market in our country...
Here, parents won't buy us anything that we ask...and so the people go crazy in buying Illegal PC,PS2,PS cds which are available in the shops just for the price of 50 Rs(approx 1.20 US $) either microsoft or the game makers or the distributors must take any step to control this and the only solution would be reducing the prices according to the average Indian consumer's budget.Again for buying illegal CDs the steal once again and involve in some small crime too...
That's all about gaming in our country....INDIA....
Remember India is a beautiful country but living a happy life here is really tough...It's hard to find a job...and It's hard to stay in the job...It's hard to get a promotion...etc...
Thus I would like to conclude...If the price of Game CDs are reduced then the creators, makers,Distributors can really earn a large sum of money in India... since India is a developing country...
