internet explorer

hello

IE freezes whenever i try to log onto my school email. it was also doing this for my internet banking and some other sites that require a log in. it is really really annoying. for some reason i can log onto this tho.

i ran ad-aware SE today and after that it seems to be when the problems started.

i also ran vet and it found some viruss but cleaned it all up.

i just found out the it freezes when i try to open page in a new windom

Try a reinstall.

To Reinstall IE6:

1) Insert the Win XP CD

2) Open Start / Run and type:
rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 c:\windows\inf\ie.inf

Press ENTER

will that wipe favorites etc ?

No mate, it shouldn't do .. but just save your " Favourites " folder, just in case ;)

try using mozilla firefox, much better than internet explorer in my opinion and is faster as well, and general setup is better

i ran vet and ad-aware again and deleted everyones temp internet files and cookies this fixed it. i think i must have had a virus cos my cpu usage was at like 85%.
