Act of War - Windows 98

Hi,

just bought AOW,but now im very dissapoined,it does'nt run on Windows98 (???)
(Windows error : error in modul kernel32)
and i can't give it back.
Is there a way to fix that problem ?
i remember Doom3 had the same problems,but someone was kind to
made a Windows98 Patch.

i think im gonna have the same problem!!! i run our gaming machines on win98 too!

You will have to upgrade soon because a lot of newer games are not running on win98 anymore

If u get lucky someone makes a Win98 Patch ... but i wont keep my hope in it ! agree with acal3000 better get a newer windows version....

hmmm, its scary/costly to upgrade to the current avail os (winxp sp2) now that longhorn is just lurking around. might be a very costly affair for the shop

Kernel32 is something to do with the sounds drivers. Maybe you should update you sounds card drivers.

kernel32 is the core of Windows NT and above.

You will need to move soon if you want to carry on playing the newer games. If you are worried then may I suggest dual booting?

Also, do yourself a favour and get a Windows licence cheap by buying a small piece of hardware and then an OEM licence. They should only be able to sell WinXP to you as OEM if you buy something hardware based at the same time (although a lot of shops will sell you the OEM version straight). Other than that, it's ££/$$ time.
