EDIT: This isn't a true emergency, so I've posted this in the Software forums. Apologies.

When installing my newly purchased copy of the Sims 2, I get an error every time Disk 3 is in (during the process of the installation). When installing the game, a message comes up saying that there was an error in the transfer, and asks me if I want to retry or cancel. The retry option never works, so my only choice is to cancel the installation.

I cleaned the CD using a DiskDoctor, and it is in perfectly good shape, but the CD still did not work.

Looking at the EA customer support online, I tried all the steps, including renaming InstallShield to InstallShieldOld (which seemed to do nothing), and tried the program compatibility wizard, which did not work. I had no backround programs running.

I sent a e-mail to EA's tech support, but all I got was the same information I found online.

Finally, I tried copying the disks to my hard drive. I followed EA's instructions exactly, and copied Disks 1 and 2 to the drive. But, when Disk 3 was nearly finished copying, a message popped up saying "MS-DOS Error: compressed.zip" and the copying process closed.

I am at a loss as to what to do. I tried this on my other computer, an Athlon 64 3200+ with similar specs, but I got the same error messages. My system specs are as follows:
