Before requesting a crack for a patched version you should maybe wait for a crack for 1.0 to be made... And even this is gonna take a while because RELOADED are the only ones who are able to crack starforce 3 at the moment... Hopefully they are working on a crack right now. Until the release, use your original game disc.

I just found this file via emule, it's supposed to be a mini image of SC: Chaos Theory. I scanned it with Norton with actuals sigs and didnt find a virus or sth like that. Even though afaik the mini image trick doesnt work with scct's version of starforce, maybe someone could give it a try with starforce nightmare, i would if i had the game myself, but i do not own it yet. Plz post result asap.

A mini image of a game can trick the copy protection into thinking your games CD is physically in the drive.
I recently found out certains games wont work if installed off CD then the game image mounted on a virtual drive, unless they were first installed from the virtual drive mounted image, an example for me was Rally Championship 2000, to fix that make your image first THEN install the game :D

and yes daemon tools os best for mounting, they are also woring on a major 4.0 release which is dew out soon.

Sure, because you dont need the content of the disc for starforce but the physical sectors of the disc and the dpm measure file, because there is the code that sf3 needs / searches for.

I have Daemon tools with virtual drives...in theory I should be able to burn the SC CT image to Hard disk then mount the image to Daemon drive and play. Surely an RMPS reading of the disc will copy the exact setup and coding on the disc???

So let me run this by the people there, because I don't want to have to uninstall my game to test this. I've got the Chaos theory DVD, and like everyone else here, am trying to get it to work without the disc. I've also got Alcohol 120%. Anyone think it's possible to go ahead and create an image of the disc and then mount it to a virtual drive, and then install from the image to get it to work? I already know that it doesn't work by just mounting the image as a virtual drive if the game was installed from a disc drive. Comments?

I dont think it will work that way either..the way they have protected the game is relatively new and will involve large cracks I think. I have no problem playing with the DVD if it would bluddy work. After the disc check the screen flashes but the game doesnt run for me. I think a program is conflicting with the game and not allowing it to work. I'm hoping a NO Cd crack will solve this issue!!!

As I said b4, you have to use the programm starf.uck or starf.uck nightmare (without .). This programm disables all physical drives. Than it should work. I didn't test it with SC3 yet.

to make the mini iso work you have to put all your ide cables off your drives, you need an external dvd/cd drive so thats a little to much work for making the game work. :blacno :redembarr :redroll: :eek2:

The Direct2drive version doesn't have the Starforce protection in it.

Perhaps for those with the skill it would be easier to make a patched copy with this version as all it requires is a serial number and online check?

That was the idea. I was thinking if you get the splintercell3.exe from the D2D and overwrite the retail splintercell3.exe would it work? That's what I'm asking.

But then you would need to keep the original exe whenever a patch comes out.

Seems a bit small for a patch, I believe the SC:CT executin' (.exe) file is more than 9.2MB in size..a crack would be less but not that little! My guess its a spyzy (Spyware) or a Viry (Virus)! Hey! at least its a start, personally I think the Star-Fuc£ Nightmare people should find a way to bypass the STARFORCE Security altogether! Listen, do not try the StarForce Nightmare (Crack.rar) it does not work with the new disk security from StarForce!!! I suggest sticking it out and waiting for someone to make a patch or crack for the .exe of the game. Shouldn't be long now by the looks of things! Bloodvanpir should have one very soon!

Damn it... Well at least i'm not the only one with issues in the game. I've writen to UBI twice and this is what they said to me:-

titles. You should note that Nero is sometimes mistaken for a CD-Emulator

Yeah...err ISIS my friend StarForce Nightmare is the program which can simulates and deactivate the StarForce protection on games etc. It is not the same as StarForce Security. StarForce v1.0-2.4 were covered with the SF Nightmare but the new SF3 has not been decoded yet therefore the nightmare will most definitely not work!!!

Tone, if you were more informed of the issues some of us are having with Starforce3 and our drives or software incompatibilities you wouldn't be posting what you did.

Firstly there are a fair number of DVD drives that are incompatible with Starforce3 and secondly and most importantly for me if Starforce detects software like Daemon tools, Alcohol, etc. all of which have LEGITIMATE AND LEGAL USE the game will not intstall or play.

Why must I uninstall legal programs that I have to run SC3?

See for yourself that for quite a few of us it is not quite so simple as "play with the original instead of fannying about with this hassle".

I can see where you are coming from, the problem there lays with ubi, am sure they will release a workaround for it sometime (mabey) a lot of people who complain about starforce tho is people who have copies of the game, there the one whom seem to have the most problems... im not saying that anyone here does, but its just an observation.

I am quite aware of the problems with starforce, I for one will not buy a game with this copy protection, plus because of the hassle it causes with other programs installed dont be surprised that the protection will soon be banned as its infringing on certain comsumer laws and probably some others as well.. i have read somewhere that the problem has been taken to a european court of law as it breaks quite a few consumer rights etc. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and i for one speak mine, most people who complain about it is people who have copies of the game, so you whom is a newbie, dont go preaching to me what i can and cannot say. hooray for freedom of speech :p

No files have been changed its just that the D2D is only available to download and activate in mexico , canada and north america so a kind man in icq did it for me the activation itself is still quite complex as it requires your serial number and a hardware code generated by the activation wizard uniqe to your pc so my reg file wouldnt work for you. you then log on to star force and activate over the internet and then they give you the activation code so should be easier to break than the starforce protection a simple keygen should do it but understandably im having trouble contacting well know keygen makers such as paradox etc. so spread the exe as much as you can

D2D is the gamespy direct to drive website where you purchase games online and download them directly so you dont need a dvd disk only problem is that its only available to mexico canada and north america so i had to go to icq chat and get a north american to activate it for me as they trace your ip the sad gits. I HATE STARFORCE

Info: iF YOU DOWNLOADED THE 32MB SYSTEM FOLDER and placed him into (example: C:\program files\ubisoft\Tom Clansy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory)
the map of Splinter cell then you need to open that map and start SplinterCell3.exe
then he will ask for an activation : Automatic? or Manually?
if you choose Automatic then he will ask you for you serial number!
if he says that he is not valid then klick ok : you will see a code!!
that's the HARDWARE CODE! You will need it on the site above!
but you also need a VALID SERIAL NUMBER ON THAT SITE!!
If you found a cd-key and he is valid you can activate the program
with the program or on the site! then i think it should work

i think it is impossible to share the serial online because each time you launch the game the hardware serial is different.So i think the activation serial is generated with the hardware serial.So we can't use manual registration.And online registration can't works because we need an unregistred serial,and for that we need to suscribe to direct2drive !

This "hardware-key" will not be produced new on every system.. the hardware key is PRINTED on every bought original SC3 DVD.. the key is binded with every DVD itselfs.. so actually the combination serial/hardwarekey may only work if both numbers come from the same DVD(hardwarekey)/Booklet(serial)..

Ok here it goes the online activation requires an online key such as the ones from D2D. The keys on the cd's are not the same which is why they are all the same. And the hardware key is generated by the wizard for activation (run the wizard a few times and you will notic that the hardware id chages each time you run it the last generated id becomes obsolete ) so if someone can figure out the algorithm of this then you will get your activation key like this

Online Key + Generated Hardware ID --SERVER--> Activation Code

the activation code is the improtant part someone needs to make a keygen that follows that pattern like the old norton 2005 keygen where start with a dodgy serial norton gives you a phone challenge code then you input this into the keygen and it does the maths and out comes your activation key simple realy only i know buggerall about keygen making and as for cracking the algorithm i wouldnt know where to start.

PROBLEM SOLVED.
This will be useless. His CD key won't help you, because the activation is based on the unique ID that you see, when you start SC3 (D2D version). Even when you get his activation code and his CD key, you won't have his unique hardware ID, which should fit the other two keys. And afaik, this ID is neither reproducable nor stored in registry.

Again, don't waste your time. You can't "crack" the game by this means. Starforce doesn't have such a weak spot.

Nope... Trackmania (1, not Sunrise) has StarForce too. Version 1.0 was cracked, but the game you can buy in stores is 1.01 and it hasn't been cracked yet :(

yeah, i've spent 3 days with ubisoft support with them finally telling me that SCCT will not work if you have a cdrw or dvdrw drive. the guy told me to buy a dvd rom drive that has no disk writing abilities. he said because of the copy protection that the game will not run. i too have been frantically looking for a patch to play single player. i've been playing versus mode the last few days. i've even had the game let me in and i played through the first level. i've had the best luck launching the game from the dvd autoplay menu, though it only gets past the disk checking 1 in 20 tries. i'm glad to see i'm not the only one who is having this problem.
