Requesting No-CD crack of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

No surprise. Why should the starforcers be so stupid and let their product detect DT by checking the registry? They learned from other games using starforce...
DT loads a driver at boot-time, which can be easiliy proven to be the DT driver by checking the checksum. Renaming won't help.

I think I'll be spending 10€ tomorrow at a computer shop...
Has anyone yet proven the USB-Drive method to work?

The 2Q4PL serial is the european one, I think. At least I had it with my german version of SC3. The Miniimage that's araound the web is from an european version, so this key should work with it.

2 the guys talking about sticks and Ipod: No.
What we're talking about is burning an Image with valid DPM data to a DVD-R and use this DVD-R then in the USB drive.
It makes no difference wether you place the miniimage on your hard disk or on an USB stick, as long as you have to use Alcohol or DT, it won't work.
Using the burnt DVD-R in an IDE drive also doesn't work. IMHO the USB method works, because Starforce (or your System) doesn't see an IDE controller, just the CD-Drive.

maybe they will eliminate this 'backdoor' in the next patch

Ya, but I guess I won't pay 50 euros for a game I'll play once. I've just bought Half-Life 2 and I spent something like 60 euros! I'm not sure I want to spend so much money for a game. I'd rather not to play it never.
Maybe Chaos Theory is a good game, but IMHO I don't think It worth the money.

OK... well no, this is my first and only MG profile and it was not made to mock you, it was made to make the comment below about a virtual usb which technically makes sense (I am an IT professional). Another bet might be to transfer the mini image to a USB memory stick but I'm not sure if that'll work since they're registered in the OS as a disk...

I meant, there is no such thing as legally cracking a game in order to make it play without a CD/DVD. That requires reverse engineering of the game which is ALWAYS mentioned as not legal as part of the licence agreements for buying and playing the game.....

So no matter what your intentions are, legally speaking it is still considered piracy. As long as you're aware of that I have no problem at all.....

you can easily get a new ip.. im not tryin to be a smartass or anything but you get a new ip everytime you reconnect to the internet.. if you are still blocked and you want back on, call up the isp and get a whole different ip renewed that isnt even close to your old one...

God this is one of the longest threads I've ever read. I started from page 10. On any account; Splinter Cell is one beautiful game. I hadn't the time to play it the first week, so I let my friend borrow it. Conveniently he "lost" it and now I either have to be screwed with buying another copy or waiting for this phantom-like nocd to come out.

I found something interesting too, it is a virtual drive program called starport and it gets me further past the protection (b4 it said insert into another drive now it says serial is wrong for the dvd)

The other interesting thing is that it allows usage of networked drives as if they are installed on your own computer (this may work the same as USB2 drives)

Unfortunately it says that access is denied to my networked computer so im gonna fix that later.

If anyone who has a network can try this and post if it works it would be greatly appreciated

if you want to use a dvd reader over the nerwork right click the drive you want to share and share it its that simple...!and if you want to change your ip go to the command promt and type dhcp/release or right click your net adapter and click repair ....! this will release and renew your ip ..! you might get the same 1 if so leave it off for ten and you will have a new ip :p

Starport is different it doesnt just share the drive it makes it your own
if you try to run splinter cell through a shared network drive it will say dvd not inserted
but if the network drive shows up as your own it might be possible (its worth a try)

you are supposed to take the mds from the mini image and combine it with your backup mdf file of the original. This will then take the full DVD and will use the serial you got in the retail box

when i used to look at the ubisoft logo at the begining of game i used to think quality...! now i think bastards how dare they take my right away to back up my media and kepp my investment save to use for years to come and not until the dvd gets rimmed..!and if so will they replace my lost media like when you rim you windows disc they will send a replacment cause i own the license..! isnt buying a game the same principle. i have bought it so i need fault tolerance behind it well ubisoft now sucks and so do all the people at star force for designing a protection system wat protects only the game but can cause instabilty to your system...!

Instructions to get the game DVD working:

Mount the image in Alcohol virtual drive, make sure you have all the files, since the ISO (in MDF format) has been splitted in 3 parts. To do so, right click the virtual drive on "My Computer", select the 4k mds and the other 2 Gb splitted files will be automatically appended to build the entire 4.15Gb ISO image. Install the game using the normal procedure.

Then, to play the game, you can use the following ways.

FIRST WAY:
<-------------------->

Unrar (Unzip) the mini image and burn it on cd-rom support using Alcohol, making sure to check the RMPS option.
Notice that some cd-writer are not perfectly capable of writing the RMPS info.
Then insert the "Mini" Cd in a USB or SCSI cd-rom, disable all the ide CD/DVD drives and start the game from the start menu. If you disabled the IDE drive in the correct way, the game will check for the disc in the USB or SCSI unit. At first you will be prompted either to reboot your system (to enable the protection) or to insert the serial.

The serial is in the VIETATO.txt file attached to the mini image zip.
Insert the code, wait a few seconds for the disk check then play.

SECOND WAY:

Once you got the 2 Gb and the 160 Mb files, you can manually append them, by copying them in an NTFS partition(the only kind that supports file more than 4 Gb in size) in this order: mdf+m00+m01.

It means you have to append the .m01 to the .m00 and append the resulting to the .mdf resulting in a 4.15 Gb file. Then delete the 4kb .mds and use the one that comes with the 32kb mini image.

Then open Alcohol and burn the image file (4.15 Gb MDF + 32Kb MDS) enabling the RMPS option.
Insert the burned DVD in a SCSIor USB 2.0 DVD-ROM, making sure to disable all the ide drives.

Then follow the procedure for the first way (reboot, serial number, etc etc....)

Any other procedure has not been tested and so its not assured to work, so anyone that downloads it is taking the responsibility unless a crack will be released.

Uninstall starforce, install an older game with older starforce, hack the driver's version number with a debugger, reinstall SCCT and see what happens. If the program detects the old drivers with new version number maybe it won't overwrite them. Just a guess, but worth a try, but I'm currently working so I can try it later, but maybe someone could do this method.

It's not true, because I'm playing with GTR and Toca RD2 and they using the newer driver. The older (or the same version) doesn't write over the new one!

Hi n00b here,
i have an enclosure a dvdrw and dvd-rom,
I have no IDE CDROM's,
I have a SCSI CDWriter,
If i undesrtand the procedure correctly i should
1)Write a cd with the proper settings and image
2)Since i have no IDE CDROM's i don't need to use Star++++ or the Nightmare version.

However, i cannot use Alcohol to write the CD, i have done so with Nero. Alcohol insists that the image won't fit the empty CD (any suggestions?).

The game won't start if i use the SCSI-cdRom, with media written in Nero(all emulations and virtual drives of, no usb dvd/cd).It doesn't work on the usb2 device either (DVDRW).

Any other recommendation?

I have an internal network with masked IP's and a hardware based firewall connected to my ADSL router. I've never been hacked and I doubt it'll be easy. ;-)

if you want to use a dvd reader over the nerwork right click the drive you want to share and share it its that simple...!and if you want to change your ip go to the command promt and type dhcp/release or right click your net adapter and click repair ....! this will release and renew your ip ..! you might get the same 1 if so leave it off for ten and you will have a new ip :p

Good news, THE GAME WORKS NOW
I inserted my real copy and it got to 25% as usual and froze I ejected the DVD and it came up with an error so I went to information->report, saved the report and sent it to support@star-force.com With the explanation of the prob

They then sent me a new serial and told me to press shift when starting, now it doesnt freeze at 25% (I dont think it checks much at all)

This is the solution for those who have bought the game and cannot play

Hey guys, I'm in this same crap boat of an unworking CT disk. I just don't get the problem. I've tried doing everything listed but can someone just tell me if I've done anything wrong? Since my legit copy obviously is in non working order - I've had to result to MDF and MDS files. However I fear I've done something wrong since this SHOULD have worked what with using my external dvd burner and all.

Alright so I enable RMPS in writing in Alcohol 120%
Set read to max, set write to 2.3 (it wont go lower)
I burn the MDF to a blank DVD-R and install the game with my external burner (all other drives unplugged)

It STILL refuses to work. I can't get past 25% when it's checking my cd code. Is my problem that I should have burned the MDS instead of the MDF? Does it even matter? I emailed away for a new code but I think this is just the same problem everybody else is having. Sorry if this is a noob question but you know with 36 pages of the same questions it's hard to get a solid black and white answer.

No problem. Delete all you image files and stuff first. Launch the game. After it freezes at 25% eject CD and click "Information" and save the text file somewhere. Then e-mail support@star-force.com with your problem and the attatched file. They will e-mail you a working CD-Key. That is what I did. I had the same probelm after buying the game for $50 at Frys Electronics.

Well this is probably the most important post concerning this issue, so crackers listen up.

It has been made clear that a special key is issued by tech support where you have to press shift while entering the key. This bypasses starforce. All we need is a keygen that generates these special keys instead of the normal ones. Far easier than cracking starforce or cracking the exe.

A keygen should only take a couple of days to make, so lets snap to it. Utilising this method, only one key would be required, not even a keygen.

It would be extremely hard to emulate this information check and create a keygen that can process this into a serial

ONCE AND FOR ALL!

Everytime you start the Splintercell3.exe (the main program) you get a new hardware key. So there is no help if you got the activation key for someones hardware key!
YOU NEED ONE THAT MATCHES EXACTLY YOUR KEY!

So either there is a keygen (nothing found until now) or you send your HARDWARE-KEY that will be prompted to starforce. But thats maybe not that good idea with the snake-image and serial! ;-)

right im only typing this 1 more time install snakes version half way through actication open your dvdrom and crash it out ..! you might have to restart ..!then try to start scct again and it should say error..! click on information and save the report i think it save it in my documents default..! then email the roport saying you have tried every thing to get the game working with your key and it dont work then they will send you the patch telling you to put in your syatem folder overiting when necesary..! then start trhe game it will bring a box up with a uniques key ..! send this back to them leaving the star force box open and then when you recieve yuour key you can activate and play with out the disc...! if you have bought this game then you are in your right to email them giving them hell like i did..! all you really need to get a key out of them is the error report cause it has all unique information about your comp once you send them this repoert saying you cant get it wotking for ++++ they will send you the patch then they have to send you a new key...!

How are you so sure that RELOADED dont work on a crack for this game???They have cracked starforce protected games in the past, they will do it again with that game. I believe they are the only one who can produce a stand alone .exe file and beat starforce. I'll wait. It s not sure the key they gave you to crack the game works only with the hardware code you have, maybe it works with all copy, it could be a special key who desactivate the detection, so it would be great if you could share it just to try with a different code to know if it works. I just finish read the post. i cant believe haha. As everybody I bought my legal copy of the game (of course :) and then i obviously downloaded the 4gigas snake version because i wanna play without dvd inserted. All right. ¿Any question? ok.

Note that the patch doesn't get rid of activation... you still have to e-mail starforce your information so they can send you back a serial key :)
