I do have an external and for me it only works when i burn the image from my original dvd with the mini image's .mds and then turn off the drives with starforce nightmare. That works fine me...But i got no success with only the mini image.

Just got hold of image and serial. Gunna try it using my Dell USB DVD player from my lappy.

How can I force Alcohol to burn at 1x or 2.4x? I only get an option of 5x or 8x :(

Read somewhere that it is drive firmware and media dependant so I stuck a 2.4x dual layer DVD+R in and it still only gave me a 5x option. Any ideas?

I successfully loaded the mini-image into alcohol 52. It goes through the disc check, but the disc key is wrong. I've tried with and without the -'s in the key, but still no luck.

This proves that we all need the unique disc key for the game. Maybe RELOADED will make some sort of keygen that checks your gameID and gives you the unique key. But that is just wishful thinking.

Now I may be asking stupid, but how can we 'low-life-people' get in touch with RELOADED? They obviosly don't have an IRC channel and a website... :/

I've tried... If you try to edit the .sforce3 in splintercell3.exe and try to start the game it says "This is not a valid Win32 program".... In udmlib.dll there is nothing I can think to change. I tryed to remove the import of the udmlib.dll from splintercell3.exe and I get the same problem.... Looks to me like this is un-hex-crackable.

Not True! A friend of mine downloaded from D2D and we tried it, It does NOT work. It promts you that the key has already been registered. So just to let people know drop the D2D Idea cause it will not work.

If the starforce 3/mini image procedure works, can anyone of you be nice enough to help me out with it. I have installed the game (from DVD and from image as well, I tried both), disabled the 2 internal DVD drives using the starforcenightmare program, regardless, the checking is still performed and SCCT hangs forever. Any idea?

Yes I did... But I think something that needs to be included is taken out with starforce... So I need to go threw and compare my exe with the one from the DVD and D2D to see what is missing... Going to be tedious...

I know this isn't related to this topic, but it seems to be attracting somewhat coders. Anyways I'm working on a new mod.. well not so new, City Havoc. It's a good mod, alot of the hard work is done now we just need a coder to put it together. Also, another important aspect. The entire mod is based in ONE city. This is the mother of all cities, I'm talking about GTA sized cities. The city is almost done im working on some new maps such as office buildings clubs etc...

There's like a 4mb difference between the DVD and D2D version which is obvious but i tried the DVD exe with the D2D udmlib.dll and it came up asking for activiation...interesting!

I think that is exactly why. They must be getting thousands of complaints because DVD-RW and CD-RW are in almost every PC now. I don't see why they blocked them. EA tried (;)) to block all kinds of cd emulators too in Sims 2 and by the first patched they removed most of them...

well normally when u b uy from d2D it will give u a direct link to download the files after that when u install the game at first time run it gives u the activation thing and i select automatically , if it dont work with u select manuelly copy the Hardware Key and go to this url http://proactive.star-force.com/activate.php

Nb : users in Usa MExico and Canada can activate but im from beglium and i live in belgium how did i activate ? well the first 1 version is automatically activated on my desktop PC i i didnt need to go to the url , the seconde version is on my laptop so i select manuelly activation and i proceed but first if u dont live in Usa MExico or ..all u have to do is to get a proxy ( USA proxy)

I think that you can change the hardware key in Run/regedit/hkey_local_machine/software/ubisoft/splinter cell chaos theory/keys. Then you select disckey_SCCT and tou change the key

Found this, it appears to be for another game but uses the same protection so might work:

1)Install Alcohol 120% version 1.9.2(build 1705)
2)Create 1 virtual drive with Alcohol 120%
3)Install star++++ 0.82 Full Beta (0.81 don't work!!!)
4)Disable virtual drive of Daemon Tools(set number of devices=0)
5)Instal the GTR Game( 1.0 German release) with iso files mounted with alcohol virtual drive(after installation unmount images from virtual drive!!and config Video card.)
6)Launch star++++ and select your language in the "preferences" menu;reboot the program
7)Launch Star++++ and select "starforce 3.4.63.002" in the "Protections" menu
8)Others windows appears down: "Disable cd-rom" click it and after click on "OK"

i have a solution for the problem of german people.
corruption should export the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubisoft\Splinter Cell Chaos Theory\Keys\" from his registry and upload the .reg file here in the thread.
this file should include all the "hardware profile" folders that are stored there. when we add corruption's reg key in our registry, we can use his activation key that he has posted at page 15.

I use XP 64bit final as my main OS, it is currently the only one i have installed, when i try running Chaos Theory, it tells me that it can only be launched from a release version of 95OSR2.1, 98, ME, 2000 and server 2003 only.

If and when a no cd crack is release do you think it will work ok?

I would have thought so as its only the protection system which doesnt work in 64 bit xp due to there been no 64 bit starforce driver currently.

Alrighty.. First off rolla, the cd key is unique, but its been used already so its black listed so you gotta get a different "unused" cd key in order to play..

And, ESC and stonedbob, you cannot just replace the .exe, you need the entire system folder (or atleast the .exe and the starforce protection .dll which is about 27 megs)... if you go back to around the 10th page, there is a link where you can download the /system/ folder.. i recommend that you just download the game because there may be different files that are replaced that may cause problems

Per farlo, click destro da "Risorse del Computer" sull'unità virtuale, selezionate l'mds da 4k e gli altri files splittati da 2 Gb verranno automaticamente concatenati per ricostruire l'intera ISO da 4.15Gb. Installate il gioco seguendo le normali procedure di installazione.

Al termine, per giocare potete procedere utilizzando le seguenti tecniche.

PRIMA TECNICA:

Scompattate la mini image e masterizzatela su un supporto cd-rom con Alcohol, avendo cura di selezionare l'opzione di scrittura delle informazioni fisiche (RMPS).
Ci tengo a precisare che non tutti i masterizzatori cd-rom riescono a scrivere perfettamente tali informazioni.
A questo punto inserite il vostro "Mini" Cd dentro ad un lettore Cd-rom USB o SCSI, disabilitate tutte le unità ottiche ide cd/dvd e fate partire il gioco dal menu d'avvio. Se avete disinstallato le unità ide nel modo corretto, il check del disco avverrà sull'unità SCSI o USB. All'inizio vi apparirà una schermata che vi inviterà o a riavviare (per abilitare la protezione) oppure di inserimento del codice.

Il codice è contenuto nel file VIETATO.txt allegato allo zip della mini image.
Inserite il codice, aspettate qualche secondo per il check del disco e giocate.

SECONDA TECNICA:

Una volta presi i files da 2 Gb più quello da 160 Mega, potete concatenarli a mano, copiandoli su una partizione NTFS (l'unica che supporta files di dimensioni maggiori ai 4 Gb) nel seguente ordine mdf+m00+m01.

Cioè dovrete accodare il file .m01 al file .m00 e successivamente il file così ottenuto al file .mdf ottenendo un file unico di 4.15 Gb. Poi cancellate l'mds da 4kb ed usate quello contenuto nella mini image da 32kb.

A questo punto aprite Alcohol e masterizzate il nuovo file immagine (MDF da 4.15 Gb + MDS da 32Kb) abilitando la scrittura delle informazioni RMPS.
Inserite il DVD masterizzato in un lettore DVD-ROM SCSI o Unità DVD USB 2.0 avendo cura, come al solito, di disabilitare tutte le unità ottiche ide cd/dvd.

Seguite poi la procedura indicata per la prima tecnica (eventuale riavvio, inserimento del codice, etc etc....)

Qualsiasi altra tecnica non è stata testata e non viene assicurato il funzionamento, quindi chi scarica adesso se ne assume le responsabilità restando in attesa di una futura cura.

ok i believe if corruptor uploads his last hardwareprofile in the registry, then we can import it into our registry, and ti will give us his hardware ID. then we can manually activate our chaos theory with the keys he gave us. i tried to change my hardware id through the registry but its encrypted so you can do it manually, by changing values. its in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubisoft\Splinter Cell Chaos Theory\Keys\ there may be a couple hardwareprofile folders, we need the last one. thanks if you can provide it.

I have Star****** and I understand how to disable the drives. Earlier in this forum, someone said that I would need a external dvd drive and the mini-image in order to run scct. Would I be able to somehow use my mp3's 256mb storage to hold the mini-image?

(The Mp3 connects through USB, and I know that transfering files other than music works)

Its been done before. The image does not have corrosponding serial, so its useless, and certainly wont work with daemon tools or alcohol even if it did have a serial.

I do have one such image... waiting to get access to DVD burner to try it out with my raid drives... raid is apparently just as effective as external USB drive.

Aside from this, we have 3 options:

1) Make crack of the whole game, which will be hundreds of MB and will take months to crack.
2) Hack the StarForce driver.
3) Remove starforce driver and make bypass utility which will fake Starforce.

All these will take time... ALOT of time... but one thing is for sure: The harder the challenge, the more dedicated the crakers get... Its already turned into a contest between the major groups on the scene... lets see who is the best :)
Its only a matter of time before the alpha waves of the brain become coherent... then we will have the key to XION! err I mean SCCT :/

any kind of image is useless... i´ve a 1:1 copy of SCCT DVD (certainly with DPM) a valid key. I´ve used Starforce Nightmare (you can also disconnect your CD/DVD drives from IDE - for people who have trouble to use this program)
and mounted the image with alcohol120% (newest version) i takes approx. 1 min. an the a message box appears who says "key not valid".

with daemon tools the cdcheck takes a lot of time (5 min. or so). gamejack 4 can´t mount the image. so i´ve burned the image with alcohol and tried to play... same message like above written.

The comment says it's a virus. Every other chaos theory crack on emule is, so I'd be very surprised if this one actually worked and wasn't just another virus.

seems real by the name and size of the file, lets just hope it DOES work though. Anyone couldve easily created a 9MB virus or 9MB useless file/original exe (or just corrupt for the matter) then comprressed it.
