No.
You need dual layer discs.

Nivek is right, you need a dual layer burner and dual layer discs..

The only thing that can be done, is a DUAL-LAYER DVD can be burned onto 'standard' DVD+/-R, using software like CloneDVD. The software compresses the VIDEO so that it fits on to the standard disc. A DUAL-LAYER drive is not needed for this.

A DUAL-LAYER drive is needed in order to be able to burn on to a DUAL-LAYER blank disc.

Like Nivek said it can't be done, you would need to change the physical properities of the disc (which can't be done).

has anyone seen dual layer DVD being sold in stores or anything like that? I heard you can only get them online and they are really expensive

You'd be really luck to find them in stores. Your only method, would be to buy them online. Either way, you're gonna end up dishing out alot of money for only 2-3 dl disks. I believe I've seen a pack of 3 dl disks for sixty-some dollars.

What do you mean NORMAL DVD?
What is NORMAL DVD?

Well! You can not burn DVD 9 to DVD 5 because of the size. It will not fit it's impossible but what you can do is to re-encode or transcode it to a smaller size so it can fit to DVD 5 that is equivalent of 4.7 Gigs

DVD 9 is double the size of DVD5, normally it's 4.38 Gigs.

Here are other types of DVD's:

• DVD5: Single side, single layer. 4.7 gigabyte.
• DVD9: Single side, dual layer. 8.5 gigabyte capacity.
• DVD10: Double sided, single layer, 9.4 gigabyte capacity.
• DVD18: Double sided, double layer, 17 gigabyte capacity.

If you are asking if nero can burn DVD-DL. Yes it can and there are a lots of others that could also do even better.
