My PS2 is damaged but can it be fixed????

My old model chipped PS2 cannot play backups right anymore because every backup game I play on it have graphic glitches and every 15 seconds when playing a backup the backup freezes and shows a loading screen and I can hear clicking sounds coming from inside the PS2 I know that the backups are not damaged becuase they work fine on my chipped slimline PS2. Does this mean that the PS2 is totally damaged or would a laser replacement fix the problem?

Could be your laser. But why bother with that oldie when you have a new chipped ps2 slim system?

Like what Puppet Master said, why bother with the old crappy PS2 when you have a new nice thin healthy one? The only thing I can say about the glitches is your laser can't read off the discs propperly or the PS2 is overheating.
