Hi..

I stay in a boarding school and me and my friends love playing counter-srtike, halo, unreasl, call of duty etc.. the problem is that everytime some new computer comes we have to go through configuring the whole thing, ip address, subnet mask, setup a home/small office network... that takes up quite some time.... that time could be used for a round of cs... :(..

Is it possible to create an auto setup disk that configures the system ready for multiplayer via LAN including ip address subnet mask, and other settings...

This would also come usefull in file sharing and other things..

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

there is some software called DHCP which u have to install on 1 of the pc's this will tell the pc there IP, subnet, gateway (if u have one)
do ur computers go through a router?? if yes, setup DHCP on there. if not go to add/remove programs. windows components. i can't remember where in there. something like networking

Well if it's anything like my buddies dorm these guys are spread all over the building playing the game. As far as I know there isn't a "pop in a disk and auto config" option. I know they were looking for something but nobody found anything. If the PC's are on the schools network and already set up it shouldn't be that hard to search for games on the network as long as your all in the same building. Of to find the IP of the host computer and just type it in if your going from dorm to dorm.
