1. Drop the language.
2. Calm down a bit.
3. Sounds like you have your OS installed on a FAT partition.
You need to change it to NTFS.
4. Read the rules!

i am not exaclty sure whats wrong with your PC, but i think SP2 might have something to do with it. a lot of the people i know have had SP2 and it screwed up their PC, so i would suggest that if you dont ever figure out what the problem is just re-install Windows.

1.i cant reinstall Windows... :frown2: :frown2: :frown2: i have a Dell.
2.i cant run 3DSM4, which i need(i have a plugin that doesnt work for 7)
3.a GetRight plugin i had also said i had a 16 bit system
i tried the thing where you replace the autoexec.nt or whatever and it doesnt display it anymore, but it still doesnt work, it doesnt show it, but it just doesnt run. i hate SP 2. i ahev Win XP for that matter because i had MORE luck with Win98 SE than XP

16 bit should run on XP. XP is 32bit and it emulates 16 bit. u can do this by running something like sysedit on the run comman. this will run something called WOW (windows on windows) this will emulate 16 bit. have u tried uninstalling SP2?? have u used the software compatibililty wizard??

Didn't you get any recovery disks? Dell is quite good pc wise, and they should be able to fix it as long as your in the warranty period

To your problem, what software are you trying to run ?? It might be an old software that XP can't handle. Try the Windows 98 compability mode.
