How do I use a crack once I install?

I downloaded a no-cd crack for Age of Empires II and I have no idea what to do with this file. Do I just install it like a regular application? (I am sure this is a stupid question, and I already searched the forums but nothing helpful turned up)

You unzip the files. Copy the exe file and paste it ito your game directory. If you are asked if you want to replace the existing file then you did it right
