First off im in the UK, and you have proberly heard of how unlucky we are at the moment, what i want to know is, if i get a US PSP, will all the functions work here in the UK, i know its region free, and the manual says about a region "All" or "1" coding, but remember people dont relise that it says UMD it does not say it is a UMD game, so this is proberly for the UMD movies, that will have region "All" or "1".

My point is if i have a US one and my mate has a UK one both UK games will we still be able to do link up games with each other, and will i still be able to use the online features of the PSP here. And also if its the same senario as above but i have a US game and he has a UK game, will we still be able to multiplayer using our WiFi.

Please someone give me an answer.

I recently phoned an import company and they say yes to all of these, but im not sure they are just trying to make me buy one.

Also think about the future with the PS3, will there be problems using a US PSP with a UK PS3.

Thanks for your help in advanced.

You should normally be fine with the games on PSP, because the region protection is only for the movies.
They done the region free for games because of the people that travel a lot and want to play a new game they can pick it up and play it immediatly.
So they all should work fine with games from the same country. Though it's too early to tell if there will be connectivity problems with a UK - US game because the PSP still has to come out in the US too. So there hasn't been any testing.
Same with PS3... too soon to tell.

yea i was thinking around the same lines. If anyone has any experience with other electronics, say a US Laptop with wlan and them using it in the UK, because it should be the same principles. Any way any other replies or with ideas or answerd will be much appreiciated.

Cheers

just an update... i went to my local Sony shop today and a guy in there believes it will do everything a UK one will do here. Then i started thinking about american laptop users that come here on business trips or whatever, their laptops have wireless internet connectivity and they can still access world wide web. So assuming that a laptops hardware is the same as a PSP's hardware, just mabye they are right and the US one will be well worth thinking about.
