Original Halo CD key question....

Ok, I have a copy of the Original Halo for the PC. However i've lost the stupid cardboard thing it came in that had the Key on it. Now i don't want any cracks or keys from other people. I was just wondering if anyone had run into a problem like this with microsoft games, and if you did what did they do to help? I'm thinking about calling them, but I don't know how i'd prove that I did infact buy the game, and i'm not gonna shell out any $$ to get a new key....

I'm afraid there is not much more you can do... mostly, if you lose the key, they won't give you a new one. You can still try to call them, but I don't think they'll agree.

How about trying to pick up a second hand copy real cheap?

Or, ask at your local PC store that takes game trades (I know a lot of them do) and see if they can possibly help you out. Often they get games returned with scratches so they don't play and can't resell the game, maybe they would be kind enough to give you the key off a box that they will be scrapping? Worth a shot :)

Try contacting Microsoft for giving you the key or any other help in this matter.
