some of the newer games now require pixel shader 1.1 support, But It says I do not have it.

(For games like Deux EX invisible war and Prince of persia : warrior within)

amd I do have nVidia gForce 4,512 ram,and a AMD Athlon XP.

do I have to download a driver for my video card or what?

thanks alot.

Let me guess , that geforce 4 is one of the mx series. If it is , buy a new card. That one does not support pixel shader 1.1 , getting new drivers will not fix it.

If it's one of the Ti series geforce 4 , then check drivers are installed correctly as it should work fine.

A 128mb FX5200/5500 should be around £40-£50

You can go for the older Geforce 4 Ti series which should be cheaper.

Ok folks the answer to all your pixel shading needs is here. First download 3Danalyze, then run it, select the path of the game u wanna play, press emulate pixel shader caps, then press run and your game will work

P.S.
You can get 3Danalize from: http://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/tools/emutnl.htm

Pixel Shaders CANNOT be emulated!

Thats true, they are a hardware thing, nothoing to do with software

as the others are saing, u cant emulate a software property if the hardware doesnt support it. its just not possible, the manufacturer of the chipset decides what direct x version the chip is designed for, and even if u could emulate it, i would overheat the graphics card too much and bang goes ur graphics card, but as we are all saying, u cant emulate a graphics engine that doesnt excist for that chipset. if u dont have the money to buy the good cards, u can still save up or something, sell something u dont use ne more (that is worth selling) and get like a 9600pro, or a x700 pro when they come out are only $300 or so in aussie, and that is a good card, but if u thinking below $100/60 pound or something like that, nvidia fx5200's are fine for directx 9, but might not run it the best, but make sure u get one with a fan or buy one for it, otherwise the heatsink gets damn hot

ps graphics emulation software, how stoopid even if it is possible
