PS2 Slim on my Network

Hi
I am buying a ps2 over the weekend and will be chipping it asap.
I currently have a modded xbox which has a neat bit of software called xbox media center which allows me to view divx& vob files and listen to music over my network, I notice the new ps2 has network connection built in is there a similar utility for the ps2?

Also I will mainly be playing backups of my original ps1 & 2 games as well as watching backups of my DVD collection can anyone recommend which chip I should look for.

prepare to be disappointed coming from the Xbox homebrew scene. :(
There are two media players that will stream files from your PC, Qcast and PS2Reality Media Player, the latter one being a free download. I prefer Qcast, but I don't know if they sell it anymore. Neither will play files from your hard drive should you choose to install one.
