Xenogears Freezing Problem

Alright, i played xenogears which was originally on PSX on my PS2. But it freezes at the point where u fight Vanderkaum's ship. Right when u hop on to his ship, the turn of the enemy is of the "small gun". But for some reason it just freezes there. Like, his turn comes up and my active time bar just stops there and it just says small gun. Anybody know whats wrong?

At what speed did you burn the game?

uh i believe it was max? prob 40x or 48? not sure why? also, since im burning it with alcohol, i put it on the playstation format on the lower left on the same screen where u choose for write speed.

Well sometimes there can be a bad burn with to high speeds. The laser is very delicate to these things.
