help with star wars battle front no-cd patch

Hi! I installed the Star Wars Battlefront no-cd patch (v1.2) and it works, but now whenever i try and join a multiplayer game, it says that my cd-key is not authorized to play the game... is this because of the no-cd? or is it because gamespy just isn't working, or they think my cd-key is bad? the reason i need the no-cd is that when i run the game with the cd (cd #1) in, it says that it is a bad cd :( could you guys help me with this?

Do you have the original game? I mean, did you BUY a legit CD-Key?

the game was a gift from a friend... but when i tried to play after installing the v1.2 patch, the cd is no longer recognized... so i had to download the cd's (that's not bad, is it? i already had the cd's...) but it won't recognize them... so i tried with a no-cd patch, but my ip is apparently not authorized :P
