Well i dunno about you, but i dident find the info about having your gmail with thunderbird
anyways here it is
----------
first if you have set up your urls and username, and it still dont work you need to enable pop3 in you gmail...
for doing this you first need logon to your gmail press settings ( located on top of the page), then you will need to press "Forwarding and POP" abit under the top of the browserwindow
then just press "Enable PoP for mail" and Save Changes....
thats the sulution for most people now for setting it upp fromm scratch

Start by opening Thunderbird, if you dont have a account a window will pop upp, if not go to "tools-->Account Settings"..

now press Add Account, Then select "Email account" and press next.
then Type in you name fks "lafa" and email address "lafa.darkcore@gmail.com"
press next.
you will need to select "Pop" and then type in pop.gmail.com and press next
here type in you email address, you full email address...
fks "lafa.darkcore@gmail.com" press next...
now enter username (full email addresse), and click finish
where not fully done yet, you now need to change som ports, when your done clock on the "+" sign on the left side of you acount name, There you select "Server Settings" and edit the port on the po.gmail.com to "995"....

now you need to set "allow pop mail" inside you gmail account, for this look at the top of this page
