Well i have tv tuner card and i watch tv on it and record it on my comp and used a program got with my computer and you can record tv with it, and i can record but the file size is very BIG, even if i turn the quality down still very big, 1 min comes about 60 mb, so yea, i wanted to burn the recorded stuff onto a dvd r but the file is too big, is there a way i can turn the mpg file into a smaller one?, i have tried dvdsanta it doens't work with my dvd daul layer burner, it records a non readable dvd and wastes the disc.

Give tmpgenc a try.... its freeware unless you want the version that can convert to mpeg2 then its a trial.The trial is only on the mpeg2 encoding i think.
