Lands of Lore in Windows 98se???

I got out my old land of lore game, it works fine in windows and in the dos promt but when I select a hero I get a black screen then nothing happens.

What can I do to get it working?

try updating your drivers.

My drivers are updated (its a very old game so that should not matter)
