HL2 quits itself!

I have bought and installed Half Life 2, but when I start it it quits before I can even start a new game! This also happens to CS: Source... Ive tried it on another (older) PC, and it worked! Somebody please help me?

PS: My PC does satisfie the system requirements, but the older PC didn't! even so,the game worked on the older PC!

Make sure your GFX drivers on your PC is updated from nvidia or ati, and not using the microsoft generic gfx driver.

The microsoft generic driver has many options disabled such as opengl etc.

what kinda driver should I download?

If you have an Nvidia GFX card then goto www.nvidia.com

If you have an ATI GFX card, then goto www.ati.com

i just have an Intel graphics card...Is that too bad? now Ive installed the newest driver for it, but the problem still occurs...The graphics card has OpenGL, is there any settings there I have to change?

find out the model number of your gfx card and do a search in google for the drivers.

Its possible it doesnt support your card. If that is the case, you may need to return for a refund, or just get a nice new gfx card.

Personally I would go for the later since Valve/VU are just now royally screwing their loyal customers.
