I recently installed 2 games (halo and Starwars: Battlefront). they ran fine until I updated DirectX 9.0b to 9.0c. Now halo says it has an error with Direct3D and Battlefront the backgorund gfx are missing. Any help? please, this problem is occuring with a few other games.
PLEASE!

and these games ran fine on your computer?!
an mx video card and only 256 megs of ram?
well, if updating your graphics drivers and updated the games didn't work then my suggestion would be to reinstall the games.. it usually works for me when a game screws up.. if that doesn't work then maybe go to the game websites and ask for help with them..

i have seen similar problems when previous versions of dx get involved with newer versions....
i had a similar problem when i had updated my comp from dx7 upwards, i guessed by installing dx7, then dx8, then dx9 something from the earlier versions was left behind and caused a clash....i'm not 100% sure but have u tried reinstalling ur DX? from a different installer?
it could have been a corrupted install?
give us a heads up when u solve the issue!!! ;)

try running dxdiag and try the dislay tab and make sure all the tests work (run all test) to see if it is dx. Then if no problems found reinstall video drivers and the games. I had a problem a long time ago were in the 3d test dx7 and dx9 worked but dx8 did not (think it was bad intastall or virus). No that card dont run dx9 (although it is still needed to play dx9 games) it would just look a lot waorse( in some games not sure if it matters in halo or not if your card is dx9)
