Sacred Plus 1.8 working NO CD method.

I have Sacred 1.8.2.6 (or whatever it is now) working with nocd required.

Use the russian nocd fixed exe like everyone has mentioned before but since noone can get past the key.reg part missing follow my steps, it will work everytime no chance of failure.

1)Download latest Sacred patch for Russian version.
Link to Russian patch (http://download.ascaron.com/sacred/sacred_rus_1.8.2.116_retail.exe) Latest at the moment patch for Sacred+

2)Execute install_rus.reg

3)Copy Sacred.exe to Sacred dir(don't forget to backup old!)

4)Backup \Sacred\scripts dir and settings.cfg in root folder

5)Install Russian patch.

6)Execute no-updcheck.reg

7)Mount SACRED_CD2.mds in Alcohol or Daemon tools.(latest versions needed)

8)Restore scripts dir and settings.cfg from backup.

9)Execute the sacred.exe to run the game

10)When asked for the starforce protection key enter this:
HPTF3-7DRT8-AXG7H-3YNY3-93LHY

11)And Voila you can now play the game without cd!

Make sure you restore those backed up files or you'll be having to learn russian :)

Also you may need to do this:
1)Run Regedit.
2)Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\R oot\SYSTEM\
Here you wil see four folders (0000, 0001, 0002, 0003).Find there parameter "Service" have value "a347bus".
3)Right click on that folder there you find a347bus and select "Permissions".
4)Select user "System" and forbid all :).Starforce protection will suck :)

I followed the steps above, all besides the "run key.reg" since there is no key.reg file. Anyway, I got this working on three comps using XP but not on ME. I saw in another thread something like
"as acds2 mentiones this doesnt work for WIN98 as it uses different reg-editor" about excecuting the install_rus.reg and no-updatecheck.reg. Does this apply to Win ME too?

Anyone know of a way to work around these reg entries or perhaps how to "fool" ME's regeditor?

TRY THIS!!!!!

how this fix works:-

1. Patch your game to version 1.8.****. It does not matter what country you are from/playing

2. leave you original "Play CD" in drive. -Run game and check files.
or
Remove 'sacred.exe' from checkfile list.

3. Rename your original 'sacred.exe' file to 'sacred.org'
(you might want to make a backup also).

4. Copy the new (cracked) 'sacred.exe' and 'Caf.dll' (avaliable from megagames.com) to the game directory.

5. Run sacred.exe

NOTE: this hack works by pulling info from sacred.org, so i will bug out if you use it on you if you dont do step 3 correctly.
